The Hong Kong Jockey Club operates three public riding schools in Tuen Mun, Pok Fu Lam and Lei Yue Mun Park to promote equestrian sports. These schools offer a wide range of courses and activities for the public to learn more about horse riding and horse care.
Tuen Mun Public Riding School is the largest public riding school managed by the Club. It is a busy competition centre for all levels of riders throughout the year. It enjoys a quiet location between the mountains and the sea on the western fringe of Tuen Mun in the New Territories. It adjoins the Tuen Mun Recreation Sports Centre, which provides the public with an archery and gateball field, a golf driving range, and a climbing wall and rope course. The Tuen Mun Public Riding School is also the home of the Riding for the Disabled Association and the Hong Kong Pony Club.
Located at the foot of Pok Fu Lam Reservoir Road, Pokfulam Public Riding School is an oasis of peace surrounded by one of Hong Kong's most beautiful country parks. It is the busiest riding school due to its convenient location. It also serves as a riding facility for the Riding for the Disabled Association and the Hong Kong Riding Club.
Hidden away behind Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village on the eastern side of Hong Kong Island, Lei Yue Mun Public Riding School is a peaceful haven for those who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
