Young people are facing many different challenges in life today. As they experience rapid changes during their physical and psychological development, they are also more susceptible to stress.
Having reached more than 20,000 young people so far through community wellness hubs, the project caters for the specific mental wellness needs of those aged between 12 and 24 with varying levels of distress using a stigma-free and youth-friendly mental wellness service model. Based on a study conducted, community wellness hub users showed a 43% reduction in anxiety symptoms and a 32% decrease in stress levels. We also train a new generation of youth workers to use this mental wellness service model, with over 140 registered social workers benefitting from our training to date.
Building upon the successful stigma-free mental wellness support model, the second phase of LevelMind@JC expands to 45 one-stop wellness hubs across 18 districts and 130 secondary schools through the establishment of LevelMind Hubs and Student Wellness Clubs, co-created by students and teachers. Mental wellness self-management training will also be provided to help build healthy and caring schools. LevelMind@JC collaborates with The Jockey Club Online Youth Emotional Support programme, “Open Up”, and the LevelMind eClinic to provide always-on seamless online and offline service, ensuring that young people can receive mental health services at any time and in whichever manner they prefer.
