Horse racing is one of the most popular sports with over 170 years of history in Hong Kong, attracting citizens & tourists alike every race day! The visits to the two racecourses at New Territories and Hong Kong Island are both culturally and popularly iconic, truly enabling the racing excitement!
Public Enclosure Admission
To enter the Public Enclosure, simply use your Octopus card to pay the HK$10 admission fee at racecourse entrance to get into the public area which includes the Grandstand, betting hall and numerous restaurants.
To enter the special betting zone within the Public Enclosure, an additional admission fee applies.

- No person under 18 is allowed to bet or enter premises where bets are accepted.
- Tourist aged 18 or above and hold a valid travel document or passport for entry to Hong Kong can enjoy free entry to public enclosure.
- Please note that slippers, flip flops and plastic footwear are
not acceptable attire for the Public Enclosure.
Members Enclosure Admission
To enjoy a pleasant tour at the racecourse with an up-close view, you may purchase a Tourist Badge to visit the Members Betting Hall, Paper Badge Betting Hall and trackside areas.
- To be eligible for a Tourist Badge, you must be aged 18 or above and hold a valid travel document or passport for entry to Hong Kong.
- Please note that singlets (including sleeveless T-shirts), sports shorts, slippers, flip-flops and plastic footwear are not acceptable attire for the Members’ Enclosure and that a valid overseas travel document must be presented when purchasing a Tourist Badge.
