School Coaches

Develops the physical, mental and social capabilities of young people and fosters an attitude of excellence

Since 2013, The Hong Kong Jockey Club has partnered with Manchester United (Man Utd) to present JC School Football Development Scheme (the Scheme). Aimed at developing the potential of local teachers and coaches by introducing a training model based on inspiration and encouragement, the Scheme brings benefits to primary, secondary and tertiary levels of schools and helps young players grow their physical, mental and social skills.

The Scheme is run on a dual approach. First, bringing new perspectives to the teachers and coaches, and helping them to improve and to become football coaches for the new generations. Second, promoting a happy football culture in schools through the teachers, and leading students to participate in array of activities.

The team will not only visit the schools regularly but organise friendly tournaments, inter-school training days, parent-child activities and even online gatherings to provide teachers, students and parents with a unique learning experience. Together, we push the football culture forward, and also Put our Best Foot Forward.

The partnership between The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Man Utd has reached a decade-long collaboration in 2022. Over the decade, more than 140 schools have become part of the Scheme, and some 350 teachers and coaches have completed their training, over 10 teachers and coaches have earned a unique exchange experience in Manchester, UK. We look forward to working with more like-minded people to build a better society for our younger generation.
