Riding Lessons

Striding on together - the HKJC and equestrian sport share the same spirit of partnership and commitment to excellence.

Riding Lessons

Our aim is to give the public an opportunity to experience equestrian sports by providing a wide range of lessons and activities.

Riding Lessons
  • Available in English and Cantonese
  • Riders are colour-coded in groups of similar levels
  • Each class will have 5 - 6 riders
  • Due to the long waiting list across all the three schools, beginners are advised to join our introductory courses or take private lessons at Tuen Mun Public Riding School during non-peak hours. Those who can canter well will have a better chance to join regular lessons
  • Experienced riders will be assessed in order to join a suitable class
  • Riders are welcome to call us during office hours to discuss their riding requirements
  • Riders are required to sign a "Release and Indemnity Form" stating that the rider agrees to ride in the Public Riding School at his/her own risk (and persons under aged 18 are to be signed by his/her parent or legal guardian).

Riding Gear

Riders should bring their own riding equipment including a BHS approved safety helmet (available for rent at the school), as well as breeches, boots, whip and gloves

Safety Precautions
  • Riders and/or their parent or legal guardian must take care of and be responsible for their personal belongings and safety.
  • Riders should follow the instructions of on-site equestrian coaches or staff. Riders with pre-existing medical condition should provide their doctor's consent before participating.

Disability

For safety reasons, the Public Riding Schools cannot accept applications from persons with disabilities. Applications should be submitted to Riding for the Disabled Association Ltd.

Proper age verification checks are in place when first attending any riding lessons. All riders when first attending riding lessons must provide proof of age identification for verification, to ensure the enrollment fairness and proper compliance.

The Public Riding Schools will reject and nullify any applications made where at the time of application the applicant is aged younger than 6. You must ensure that you are providing accurate information.  You must also ensure that information provided by anyone on your behalf is true and accurate.  Individuals who provide false or misleading information in relation to the application will have their applications cancelled.
