Supporting ChariTea in Caring for Women for the 15th Consecutive Year
08/03/2024

The “ChariTea” programme, organised by the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association (“YWCA”), celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2024. It also marks the 15th consecutive year of the Club’s support for the programme, which aims to remind the public of the importance of timely love on International Women’s Day. This year, the tea bags are designed with a nostalgic tea house theme to evoke YWCA’s original aspiration of serving with love.

As the Comprehensive Care Sponsor of the programme, the Club not only made a donation, but also mobilised the CARE Volunteer team to facilitate the implementation. More than 120 CARE Volunteers came together to successfully pack over 60,000 red-date tea bags, known for their benefits to women’s health, at the YWCA headquarters during 23-24 and 26-28 February 2024. On the morning of International Women’s Day (8 March 2024), over 100 CARE Volunteers, along with their family members and friends, distributed the red-date tea bags in five districts, including Wan Chai, Wong Tai Sin, Sha Tin, Tai Wai and Tin Shui Wai. Through this gesture, they conveyed warm blessings to women and encouraged the public to care more for women.

Some volunteers have been actively supporting the programme for several years and enthusiastically joined the tea bag packing and distribution once again this year. On 8 March, many gentlemen and children shared that they would bring the red-date tea bags home to express gratitude to the female family members for their contribution.
