Striding on together - the HKJC and equestrian sport share the same spirit of partnership and commitment to excellence.
The Hong Kong Equestrian Performance Plan (HKEPP) was launched by The Hong Kong Jockey Club in 2016 to nurture Hong Kong's high-performing riders as they strive for equestrian excellence on the world stage. In 2019, the plan was expanded to better accommodate the development of younger riders and start them off on the pathway to success.
Covering all aspects of development, the merit-based HKEPP provides a rock-solid support team for both riders and horses that is led by two leading equestrian professionals with experience in developing athletes up to the Olympic level in Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing. Engaged by the Club, these performance managers not only mentor the riders, but they also monitor their condition and that of the horses so as to ensure peak performance. To assist them, the Club provides a full support team that includes coaches, grooms, veterinarians, farriers and physiotherapists to ensure that both horses and riders are in top form.
Regardless of what level they are at or squad they are on, all of the riders under the HKEPP receive the appropriate care and support that will help them to fulfill their equestrian goals.
The Club aims to raise the standard of Hong Kong equestrian sports by sponsoring HKJC Equestrian Team and HKJC Junior Equestrian Training Squad.
