Striding on together - the HKJC and equestrian sport share the same spirit of partnership and commitment to excellence.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club launched the HKJC Equestrian Team and HKJC Junior Equestrian Training Squad (JETS) following the equestrian events of the Beijing 2008 Olympics, which were held in Hong Kong with the Club’s support. In 2016, the Club offered further support by launching the merit-based Hong Kong Equestrian Performance Plan. In 2017, the Plan was extended to para dressage riders.
In 2019, the Club expanded opportunities for talented junior riders with the revamping of JETS into the Hong Kong Jockey Club Youth Development Programme, which includes The Hong Kong Jockey Club Youth Equestrian Squad and The Hong Kong Jockey Club Children Equestrian Squad. In 2022, The Club expanded its Youth Equestrian Development Programme with the addition of a Mainland Squad, to support young talented Hong Kong athletes who are based full time in the Mainland to progress along the pathway to success.
