Head of Equestrian Affairs
Amanda Bond
Amanda Bond

Amanda joined the Club in June 2014 having been CEO of British Dressage. During her five years at BD, Great Britain became Olympic and Paralympic Champions and amassed a total of 14 medals for dressage in London 2012. Membership of the organization increased from 14,000 to 50,000 by providing opportunities for all levels to engage in the sport.

Amanda also has a wealth of experience in running major equestrian events in a range of disciplines. She worked on the four previous Olympic and Paralympic Games and has run FEI European and World Championships. She is Chair of the FEI Para Equestrian Technical Committee and a Board Member of the FEI.

She has over thirty years working in the equestrian field, having previously headed the team at Hartpury College in the UK. In her role Amanda oversees all equestrian interests for the Club

Executive Manager, Equestrian Affairs
Mel Wilder
Mel Wilder

Reporting to the Head of Equestrian Affairs, Mel will be responsible for managing the Club's equestrian operations in Hong Kong across Beas River Equestrian Centre, Pokfulam, Tuen Mun and Lei Yue Mun public riding schools. She will also develop plans for increasing the level of participation in riding and other equestrian activities, and support the development of new facilities in Hong Kong.

Mel has extensive experience in leading equestrian programmes, managing facilities for horse care and training, and coaching riders. Immediately prior to joining the Club, Mel was Head of Equestrian Sports at Millfield School, UK, where she led the successful transformation and management of the equestrian education programme, creating a sustainable financial model for improved operations and growth.  In the course of her professional life she has also held positions in the UK defence industry, working with government personnel and technical specialists to drive performance through effective change leadership.

Mel holds a Master of Science in Research Methods in Psychology from the University of Reading, UK and a Bachelor of Science in Psychological Sciences from the University of East London. She is a British Horse Society Senior Coach (Stage 5) and an international event rider (4* level).


Senior Manager, Operations (BREC)
Charlotte Chen
Charlotte Chen

Charlotte joined BREC in December 2022, has held various leading positions in several luxury hotels and spa in Hong Kong and Macau, with more than 20 years of experience in operation management, project planning and guest services.

Charlotte is responsible for the business and administrative functions of BREC, property and facility maintenance, human resources coordination, finance and liaison with the Membership department.

Stephane Morai
Stéphane Morai (BEREITER FN Professional Trainer)

Stéphane is from Belgium and has been riding since childhood. After high school, he continued his studies in Germany for 5 years and qualified as BEREITER FN Professional Rider and Trainer.

On returning to Belgium, Stéphane started to teach and compete up to Grand Prix and Small Tour level Dressage on the FEI International circuit.

Before moving to the HKJC, he has been Director of the prestigious riding center Royal Etrier Belge in Brussels and also ran his own Riding Academy.


Senior Manager, Equestrian (BREC)
Joss Gray
Joss Gray (British Horse Society Instructor & UKCC 3)

Joss has 30 years of competing on the UK and the international eventing circuit. He has competed at CCI 5* level and has had placings at other premier show including a top 5 finish at Bramham CCI 4*.

Joss has been an international Coach and Chef D’Equipe at the last two Asian Games for two different countries. For Qatar at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea and also for the home nation, Indonesia , at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.

He has also been Coach and Chef D’Equipe at Regional Games winning team Silver and Individual bronze at the SEA games in Jakarta 2011 and team bronze at the SEA Games 2001 in Kuala Lumpur.

In July 2018 won Team Bronze at the Central American Games in Colombia with the Barbados Team.

Eric Ferrier
Eric Ferrier (French State License of Sport Educator Equestrian Coach, 2nd degree)

Eric with nearly 40 years of experience in the equestrian industry, Eric will work closely with our coaching team and Stéphane Morai, Senior Manager Equestrian, to further develop and enhance our riding school services.  

Eric brings a wealth of international expertise, having managed equestrian facilities with up to 100 horses and 40 staff members. His innovative approach to training programs for both riders and horses has been instrumental in developing talent across various disciplines, including Dressage, Show Jumping, and Eventing. Eric has trained riders from grassroots levels up to FEI 2-star competitions and has coached teams at prestigious events such as the Asian Games and officiated as Sport Coordinator at  the 2014 World Equestrian Games. 

His extensive background in riding school management, vocational training, and course building will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth and success of our centre. We are confident that Eric’s passion for equestrian sport and his multidisciplinary approach will bring fresh perspectives and elevate the standards of our riding school.


Performance Jumping Coach
Stelios Stavroulakis
Stelios Stavroulakis (Certified Equestrian Trainer by Greek Ministry of Culture, Development and Sport)

Stelios brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of equestrian sports, particularly in show jumping.  He has certifications from The Greek Ministry of Culture, Development and Sports, as well as FEI Level 3 certification.  As an active FEI member, he has a proven track record of preparing riders and horses for regional and international competitions, including Balkan Equestrian Championships, World Cups, and European Championships, where he has achieved commendable results.

Stelios understands horse behavior, training techniques, and equestrian sports and has customized training programs for riders of varying skill levels, focusing on technique, horsemanship, and competition preparation.   His personal achievements included various Balkan Equestrian Championships medal winner, and he is a member of the Greece National Team for Athens Nations Cup.

Wanja Gerlach
Wanja Gerlach (BEREITER FN Professional Trainer)

Wanja with over 30 years of experience in dressage, Wanja brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our community. He has successfully trained and coached numerous horses and riders to national, regional, and local championships up to Grand-Prix level, and we are confident that his guidance will elevate our performance standards.

Wanja originally comes from Germany and has lived and worked for the last 15 years in the USA. He holds various prestigious certifications, including being a Bereiter FN Germany, USDF Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medalist, and a graduate of the USDF "L" program with distinction. His extensive background in competition, stable management, and young horse development, along with his experience as a judge, will be invaluable to our members.


Senior Equestrian Coach
Kyle McCullock
Kyle McCullock (FEI Level 2 Coach, BHSAI, and UKCC Level 2 Coach)

Kyle brings a wealth of experience and qualifications in the equestrian industry, and in his previous roles, as a Senior Coach at YCL Riding Center in Shanghai, China, he oversaw the general management of all horses on site and provided schooling and retraining for various horse breeds.  Kyle also played a crucial role in training junior coaches for BHS exams and coaching riders in jumping and dressage for competition.  During his tenure as the Head Coach at Al Samriya Riding School in Doha, Qatar, he coached riders in show jumping and dressage, specifically for competition ranging from 80cm to 1.35m international classes.  He also actively competed in national competitions in both dressage and jumping, further showcasing his expertise in the field. Kyle was also responsible for the schooling and training of all types of horses as an Equine Consultant and General Equestrian Manager at Dhahran Arabian Horse Association in Saudi Aramco, where he provided advices to all livery owners and ensured the maintenance of welfare standards.

Debbie Lee Nga Yan
Debbie Lee Nga Yan (British Horse Society Assistant Instructor & Stage IV Ride & Care)

Debbie started her career as a member of the Racing Development Board's Racing Trainee Programme in 2000. After joining Beas River Equestrian Centre in 2002, she continued her training as a Trainee Instructor. She earned her BHSPI qualification in 2007. She enjoys sharing her experiences in horse riding with other riders. Debbie also assists in organising equestrian activities as well as teaching all levels of riding. Debbie earned her BHSAI qualification in 2013.


Equestrian Coach
Tang Siu Yin
Tang Siu Yin (British Horse Society Assistant Instructor)

Yin joined the Club in 1996. He earned his BHSPI qualification in 2003. He has been a qualified riding instructor since 2007. Yin has been involved in the retraining of retired racehorses for ten years. In 2011, he also took the role of supervising and managing the daily duties and training of grooms in the riding school.

Tony Wong Ka Ning
Tony Wong Ka Ning (British Horse Society Assistant Instructor)

Tony joined the club in 2010 and he has the qualification of BHSAI in 2014. He is mainly to teach different level riders and assist the riding school to held other activities.

Kiliane Ollivier
Kiliane Ollivier (BPJEPS From France)

Kiliane comes to us from France, where she has cultivated a deep passion for equestrian education and training.  Graduated BPJEPS Coach in France and with a rich background in teaching riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced competitors, she has honed her skills in various prestigious riding schools and private barns across Europe. Kiliane is experienced in creating tailored training plans that focus on both rider and horse development. She is also passionate in art and design, owning a diploma from Amien School of Art & Design (France). 

Martin Leong Chun Man
Martin Leong Chun Man (British Horse Society Assistant Instructor & Stage IV Ride)

Martin joined the Club in 2009. He started the training of instructor in 2010. He got his qualification in 2013. Beside he teaches beginner class and working for Pony Ride. Martin is helping to train some jumping horses.

Wendy Chen
Wendy Chen Yun (British Horse Society Preliminary Teaching Test & Stage 3 dressage & care)

Wendy joined the club in 2011 and she has the qualification of BHS Preliminary Teaching Test in 2019. She is mainly to teach beginner and novice level riders. She also assist the riding school to hold other activities.


Part Time Equestrian Coach
Peta Duncalf
Peta Duncalf (British Horse Society Intermediate Instructor)

Peta is originally from Wales, and she was already riding before she could walk. She has competed successfully in Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing competitions in the UK. She has taught in many countries around the world. Peta ran Pokfulam Public Riding School for ten years and was involved with Pony Club and Riding Club events.

Yumi Toda
Yumi Toda (British Horse Society Preliminary Instructor & Stage III Complete)

Yumi has been riding since she was ten years old. She competed successfully in three disciplines in Hong Kong. She represented the Hong Kong Pony Club in overseas competitions. Yumi taught as a part-time instructor at various riding schools until 2007. She earned her PTT qualification that year. She worked full time at the Lo Wu Saddle Club and Beas River Equestrian Centre. Yumi was the Operations Manager of Riding for the Disabled Association in 2011 as well as a trainer for para-riders.

RaenaLeung
Raena Hou Ling Leung (British Horse Society Intermediate Instructor)

Raena has been riding since she was six years old. She is a professional show jumping rider, and part of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian Team since 2013. Raena marked breakthroughs in Hong Kong Equestrian sport by winning 2012 FEI World Cup China League and being the first Hong Kong rider to ever ride in a FEI  World Cup Final. She joint BREC as a part-time coach in 2020 and has the qualification of BHSI in 2022. She is mainly to teach the young riders on show jumping and she is also happy to teach different level riders.

Vera Za
Vera Za (British Horse Society Assistant Instructor)

Vera started riding since 1994. She got her PTT qualification in 2009 and earned her BHSAI in 2011. Vera Joint BREC as a part-time coach in December 2021. Vera enjoys teaching children and she teaches different level riders. She worked as a part-time coach at Shanghai Equestrian Centre from 2009 to 2013. She also work as freelance instructor at International Riding Centre since 2020.
