Amanda joined the Club in June 2014 having been CEO of British Dressage. During her five years at BD, Great Britain became Olympic and Paralympic Champions and amassed a total of 14 medals for dressage in London 2012. Membership of the organization increased from 14,000 to 50,000 by providing opportunities for all levels to engage in the sport.
Amanda also has a wealth of experience in running major equestrian events in a range of disciplines. She worked on the four previous Olympic and Paralympic Games and has run FEI European and World Championships. She is Chair of the FEI Para Equestrian Technical Committee and a Board Member of the FEI.
She has over thirty years working in the equestrian field, having previously headed the team at Hartpury College in the UK. In her role Amanda oversees all equestrian interests for the Club.
Charlotte joined BREC in December 2022, has held various leading positions in several luxury hotels and spa in Hong Kong and Macau, with more than 20 years of experience in operation management, project planning and guest services.
Charlotte is responsible for the business and administrative functions of BREC, property and facility maintenance, human resources coordination, finance and liaison with the Membership department.
Joysi Sin has worked at BREC since 2011 and is responsible for leading and managing a team of Equestrian Services Coordinators in serving Members and their use of facilities in BREC. She also coordinates with other departments, stables or riding schools in provision of services to Members and Club promotion activities. Apart from customer service provision, she is also responsible for supporting other administrative and procurement duties.
Karen Wu has worked at BREC since 2010, mainly works in BREC Stable Office to coordinate with Equestrian Supervisors & Equestrian Assistants in provision of service to Livery Horse Members and the riding school. She also responsible for assisting Senior Administration Officer to manage team of Equestrian Services Coordinator & support administrative duties.
May Chow has worked at BREC since February 2022, mainly works in BREC Equestrian Office to assist in the day-to-day operation of the Equestrian reception counter. She also co-ordinate the horse riding lesson and pony ride booking and support administrative duties.
Alex Xu has worked at BREC since September 2024, mainly works in BREC Equestrian Office to assist in the day-to-day operation of the Equestrian reception counter. He also co-ordinate the horse riding lesson and pony ride booking and support administrative duties.
Adrian Tang has worked at BREC since September 2024, mainly works in BREC Equestrian Office to assist in the day-to-day operation of the Equestrian reception counter. He also co-ordinate the horse riding lesson and pony ride booking and support administrative duties.
Ling has worked at BREC since 2023, mainly works in BREC Stables Office to coordinate with Equestrian Supervisors and Equestrian Assistants in provision of service to Livery Horse Members and the riding school.
Wendy Hung joined the Club as a Clerk in 1992. She was promoted to Administration Supervisor in 2012, then promoted to Events Officer in 2017. She is responsible for the backup of operations in Beas River Equestrian Centre for Horse Riding, Pony Ride & Stables Tour Booking & Enquiry. Wendy is also the Show Secretary and organizing the entries and judges for the Horse Shows held at Beas River.
Stéphane is from Belgium and has been riding since childhood. After high school, he continued his studies in Germany for 5 years and qualified as BEREITER FN Professional Rider and Trainer.
On returning to Belgium, Stéphane started to teach and compete up to Grand Prix and Small Tour level Dressage on the FEI International circuit.
Before moving to the HKJC, he has been Director of the prestigious riding center Royal Etrier Belge in Brussels and also ran his own Riding Academy.
Joss has 30 years of competing on the UK and the international eventing circuit. He has competed at CCI 5* level and has had placings at other premier show including a top 5 finish at Bramham CCI 4*.
Joss has been an international Coach and Chef D’Equipe at the last two Asian Games for two different countries. For Qatar at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea and also for the home nation, Indonesia , at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.
He has also been Coach and Chef D’Equipe at Regional Games winning team Silver and Individual bronze at the SEA games in Jakarta 2011 and team bronze at the SEA Games 2001 in Kuala Lumpur.
In July 2018 won Team Bronze at the Central American Games in Colombia with the Barbados Team.
Tracy has joined the Club since 2008. Tracy has the qualification of BHSAI and BHS stage 4 (Care) in 2013. She helped staff and members to achieved the BHS examination in different levels. She is teaching the novice level in School and she helps the arrangement of equestrian activities.
Cara joined us here at BREC in the beginning of January 2023 as a UKCC Level 3 (Dressage Specific) qualified coach and is a Dressage rider, trainer & Judge. Originally trained by Richard Davison and by Henriette Andersen, she holds a firm belief in classical training, focusing on developing harmony and lightness between horse and rider. As a coach, she loves training and producing horses, helping riders to achieve their goals. She holds a strong passion in understanding the psychology behind the horse’s reactions to stimulus. Owning her first horse at the age of 12, Cara has produced several horses from 3 year olds through to high level dressage. She is specialized in training Ex race horses and produced her own through to Prix St Georges. She was also the Chef d'Equipe to the British Junior and Young Rider Dressage Team for more than 9 years. Prior to coming to Hong Kong, Cara has developed her own training base in Cotswolds where she has trained many "outside of the box " horses.
Stelios brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of equestrian sports, particularly in show jumping. He has certifications from The Greek Ministry of Culture, Development and Sports, as well as FEI Level 3 certification. As an active FEI member, he has a proven track record of preparing riders and horses for regional and international competitions, including Balkan Equestrian Championships, World Cups, and European Championships, where he has achieved commendable results.
Stelios understands horse behavior, training techniques, and equestrian sports and has customized training programs for riders of varying skill levels, focusing on technique, horsemanship, and competition preparation. His personal achievements included various Balkan Equestrian Championships medal winner, and he is a member of the Greece National Team for Athens Nations Cup.
Kyle brings a wealth of experience and qualifications in the equestrian industry, and in his previous roles, as a Senior Coach at YCL Riding Center in Shanghai, China, he oversaw the general management of all horses on site and provided schooling and retraining for various horse breeds. Kyle also played a crucial role in training junior coaches for BHS exams and coaching riders in jumping and dressage for competition. During his tenure as the Head Coach at Al Samriya Riding School in Doha, Qatar, he coached riders in show jumping and dressage, specifically for competition ranging from 80cm to 1.35m international classes. He also actively competed in national competitions in both dressage and jumping, further showcasing his expertise in the field. Kyle was also responsible for the schooling and training of all types of horses as an Equine Consultant and General Equestrian Manager at Dhahran Arabian Horse Association in Saudi Aramco, where he provided advices to all livery owners and ensured the maintenance of welfare standards.
Debbie started her career as a member of the Racing Development Board's Racing Trainee Programme in 2000. After joining Beas River Equestrian Centre in 2002, she continued her training as a Trainee Instructor. She earned her BHSPI qualification in 2007. She enjoys sharing her experiences in horse riding with other riders. Debbie also assists in organising equestrian activities as well as teaching all levels of riding. Debbie earned her BHSAI qualification in 2013.
Yin joined the Club in 1996. He earned his BHSPI qualification in 2003. He has been a qualified riding instructor since 2007. Yin has been involved in the retraining of retired racehorses for ten years. In 2011, he also took the role of supervising and managing the daily duties and training of grooms in the riding school.
Tony joined the club in 2010 and he has the qualification of BHSAI in 2014. He is mainly to teach different level riders and assist the riding school to held other activities.
Martin joined the Club in 2009. He started the training of instructor in 2010. He got his qualification in 2013. Beside he teaches beginner class and working for Pony Ride. Martin is helping to train some jumping horses.
Bianca joined the club in 2017 and she has the qualification of BHSAI in 2022. She is mainly to teach different level riders and assist the riding school to hold other activities.
Wendy joined the club in 2011 and she has the qualification of BHS Preliminary Teaching Test in 2019. She is mainly to teach beginner and novice level riders. She also assist the riding school to hold other activities.
Peta is originally from Wales, and she was already riding before she could walk. She has competed successfully in Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing competitions in the UK. She has taught in many countries around the world. Peta ran Pokfulam Public Riding School for ten years and was involved with Pony Club and Riding Club events.
Yumi has been riding since she was ten years old. She competed successfully in three disciplines in Hong Kong. She represented the Hong Kong Pony Club in overseas competitions. Yumi taught as a part-time instructor at various riding schools until 2007. She earned her PTT qualification that year. She worked full time at the Lo Wu Saddle Club and Beas River Equestrian Centre. Yumi was the Operations Manager of Riding for the Disabled Association in 2011 as well as a trainer for para-riders.
Raena has been riding since she was six years old. She is a professional show jumping rider, and part of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian Team since 2013. Raena marked breakthroughs in Hong Kong Equestrian sport by winning 2012 FEI World Cup China League and being the first Hong Kong rider to ever ride in a FEI World Cup Final. She joint BREC as a part-time coach in 2020 and has the qualification of BHSI in 2022. She is mainly to teach the young riders on show jumping and she is also happy to teach different level riders.
Vera started riding since 1994. She got her PTT qualification in 2009 and earned her BHSAI in 2011. Vera Joint BREC as a part-time coach in December 2021. Vera enjoys teaching children and she teaches different level riders. She worked as a part-time coach at Shanghai Equestrian Centre from 2009 to 2013. She also work as freelance instructor at International Riding Centre since 2020.
Alan joined us here at BREC in September 2002 as a Master Saddler. Alan grew up in rural Ireland on a small farm; he first studied equitation and then studied to become a saddler at the prestigious Cordwainers College of London; qualified in saddle making, bridle making and lorinery 3 years later. He returned home in 1999 to Ireland and established his own Saddlery business. Through the years he has made and designed saddles, refitted all makes and models of saddles in all disciplines. He is a Master Saddler with the Society of Master Saddlers.
Julia joined the club as an Equestrian Assistant in 2016. In 2017 she became the first Apprentice Saddler in Hong Kong. In 2018 she completed her Level 1 & 2 bridle making exams, taking the first step on the pathway to become a Master Saddler.
Liu Chun Kit is our Retraining Unit Assistant Manager. Kit oversees stable operations and helps in the conditioning and schooling of horses
Martina Trommershausen was born in Germany and joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club as Riding Instructor in July 2010. She commenced her professional horsemanship in 1992. Martina Trommershausen successfully completed her Horse Manager and Riding Teacher Master Exams in 1997 after receiving years of professional equestrian training in different well-known stables. She competed in Germany up to Dressage Level "S". Martina Trommershausen is very experienced in schooling horses and teaching riders in fluent German and English.
Kit joined the Club in 2009 and he has the qualification of BHSAI in 2013. Also he has been trained in Germany in 2016 and he enjoyed his retraining works in RTU.
Penny joined the club in 2008. He obtained his BHSAI in 2010 and BHS stage 4 in 2013. Hang has spent time training at Ingestre stables, UK under the supervision of Tim Downes. He has worked in the RTU since 2017. Hang enjoys producing horses for the riding schools and livery owners.
Erick Wong joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club as Equestrian Assistant in November 2009 and was elected to be a member of the Trainee Riding Instructor Programme in May 2013. He converted to Junior Riding Instructor in December 2016 after passing his BHS Preliminary Teaching Test. Erick Wong is currently responsible for conducting pony riding lessons in Cantonese and fun riding activities.
Natalie joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club as Equestrian Rider in September 2019 and she was born and raised in Hong Kong, having learnt to ride in Lei Yue Mun and Tuen Mun Public Riding School. She was previously a member of the show jumping JETS from 2013-2017, and competed in classes up to 130cm. Natalie has previously had experienced training and working in Australia, Belgium, England, and Germany. She enjoys producing young horses to compete in show jumping."
Donal Dunne holds a license as a trackwork rider at Sha Tin as well. As a former jockey of flat and jump races in Ireland and the UK, his professional career has always been focused on the racing industry. At Beas River, Donal introduces newly arrived horses to equestrian tack and works on both reins in walk, trot and canter. Benefitting from his experience as a jump jockey, Donal also trains horses to jump.
Ismael is originally from Brazil. He has previously worked as Jockey in England and Norway and as work rider in Dubai. He joined the HKJC as an expert work rider at Sha Tin. Ismael rides the newly retired horses at Beas River and familiarises them with their new surroundings.
Tomas is originally from Czech Republic and he was a former flat jockey in Europe, Champion apprentice in Czech and coming from racing family. He was riding and working in England, France, Switzerland, Australia, Italy & Slovakia.
Chi Wah began his employment at BREC in 1995. He also performed part-time work for Shatin Starting Gate Team from 1997 until 2023, where he handled a variety of temperamental race horses to get them in the gate and ready for competition. During his tenure at BREC, he was awarded a Racing Certificate as well as a BHS Certificate. Chi Wah was promoted to Rehabilitation Spelling Supervisor in 2012 and, in February 2023, to Head of BREC Stables. He collaborates with management to monitor all equestrian-related operations, customer relations, employees hiring and training, and enhancing each stable's operational efficiency in order to deliver excellent customer service.
Alan joined the club in 1991 as an Equestrian Assistant. He has worked as an equestrian rider in Shatin Racecourse before. And he has decided returning Beas River then worked as an Equestrian Assistant. Alan was then promoted to Stable Office Equestrian Supervisor in 2023.
Anna joined the club in 2011 as an Equestrian Assistant and was then promoted to Stable Office Equestrian Supervisor in 2023.
Liu Kam Fai joined the club in 2010 as an Equestrian Assistant and was then promoted to Equestrian Supervisor in 2024.
Chan Yue joined the club in 2010 as an Equestrian Assistant and was then promoted to Equestrian Supervisor in 2024.
Michael Sin joined the Hong Kong Jockey Club in 1988, working in various departments and positions until 2006 when he transitioned to the role of Equestrian Supervisor. He subsequently obtained Level 1, 2, and 3 certifications in Horse Care and Stable Management from the British Horse Society (BHS). Over the years, he has continuously advanced his knowledge and practical experience in maintaining equestrian facilities. In 2013, he became the first internationally recognized course designer in Hong Kong by earning the Level 1 Local Course Designer certification from the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI).
In 2016, he was promoted to Equestrian Property Supervisor and pursued further studies and practical training in course design in Germany (show jumping) and at Hartpury University and College in the UK (cross-country). That same year, he achieved the Level 2 International Course Designer certification from the FEI.
Michael is dedicated to contributing to the development of equestrian sports in Hong Kong. Besides designing courses for local competitions, he actively participates in major international and regional events. Notably, he served as the course designer for the 2019 FEI One-Star Grand Prix and as the assistant course designer for the Hong Kong Masters from 2015 to 2019. Additionally, he has been instrumental in training local course designers for the Equestrian Federation of Hong Kong, China, leading numerous seminars and workshops from 2016 to 2021, nurturing the next generation of talents for the equestrian sport in Hong Kong.
The racehorses in Spelling and Pending for Export are cared for by a specialist team of Equestrian Assistants. The Spelling & Pending for Export Supervisor is Mr. Ho Wing Sun.
Mr. Ho has been working at BREC since 1995 and has been managing the Spelling & Pending for Export stables since 2021.
