Striding on together - the HKJC and equestrian sport share the same spirit of partnership and commitment to excellence.
Eight riders from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian Team represented Hong Kong in all three disciplines – Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing – at the equestrian events of the 18th Asian Games held in Jakarta from 20 to 30 August 2018.
The Club provided the Hong Kong team with five competition horses. The team also received support from a group of professionals under the Hong Kong Equestrian Performance Plan led by Chef D’Equipe Amanda Bond, who is also the Club’s Executive Manager Equestrian Affairs. They include: a veterinarian, a farrier, and physiotherapists for both the riders and horses.
At the 2018 Asian Games, Jacqueline Siu claimed the gold medal in the individual dressage competition to give Hong Kong its first-ever equestrian gold and the Hong Kong Equestrian Team its best-ever showing at the Asian Games.
