Racing Incident Report

Prior to being presented in the Parade ring, ASPIRATION had an adjustment made to its near side front plate. NATURE'S TREASURE jumped awkwardly and threw its head about and just after the start bumped the hindquarters of SUPER SPLENDID, then in the early and middle stages, NATURE'S TREASURE raced wide and for the most part without any cover. On jumping, PRODIGY and DARLEY came together. Just after this, PRODIGY was steadied and shifted across behind other runners to take up a position near the rail at the rear. About the 1300 Metres, STRATEGIC MOVE got its head up when being steadied off the heels of DARLEY. Near the 800 Metres, DRAGON WIN shifted out from behind DIAMOND TALENTS, this caused some inconvenience to WINNING SUPREME. Just before straightening, SUPER SPLENDID and DARLEY came together. About the 300 Metres, DARLEY became unbalanced when crowded between TIME TO SURF which shifted out slightly and SUPER SPLENDID. For some distance approaching the 200 Metres and shortly after, STRATEGIC MOVE (J Egan) had trouble finding a run. Near the 100 Metres, STRATEGIC MOVE shifted in in an endeavour to find running and in doing so bumped WINNING SUPREME which in turn shifted ground and made contact with ASPIRATION. J Egan was told he must exercise more care when shifting ground. In the run to the winning post, SILLERENT shifted out. DARLEY, which performed badly, will be subject to an official veterinary examination before being permitted to race again. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that STRATEGIC MOVE was bleeding from its near nostril, however, he said there was no blood in the trachea and the horse would not be declared an official bleeder.
