Racing Incident Report

After the start, BEST POWER was taken across behind runners. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, EYE WITNESS failed to muster speed. At the 700 Metres, WIN PRACTITIONER was steadied away from the heels of COURAGEOUSHEART (D Beadman) which at this time shifted to a three wide position. D Beadman was told to exercise care. After the 500 Metres, STILTON was checked when crowded for room between COURAGEOUSHEART which shifted in slightly and FORTUNE WARRIOR (Apprentice K T Yeung) which shifted out. In the circumstances, Apprentice Yeung was severely reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. On straightening, EYE WITNESS became unbalanced when crowded for room between STILTON and WIN PRACTITIONER. Near the 300 Metres, BEST POWER was checked and shifted in to avoid the heels of ALICE TOO which was giving ground. The performance of ALICE TOO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ALICE TOO will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Apprentice K T Yeung explained the intention had been to ride FORTUNE WARRIOR in midfield or worse, however, after beginning well the horse obtained a more forward position without being pressured to do so. WIN PRACTITIONER, TOP HONOR and COURAGEOUSHEART were sent for sampling.
