Racing Incident Report
CRYSTAL was withdrawn on 23.1.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left hind cannon) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MAGI JOY (Y T Cheng). Before being allowed to race again, CRYSTAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Trainer A T Millard was fined $3,000 for presenting GALLANT KNIGHT in the Parade Ring with a gear other than its registered gear. BEAR DOMINANCE and MOVE IT were slow to begin. SUPER HONEY began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped CLASSA SUPREME. Approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion, MAGI JOY proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions. Passing the 1300 Metres, TREASURE RAIDERS shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LAZY BUDDIES. TREASURE RAIDERS was again hampered approaching the 1000 Metres due to NOBLE CONQUEROR shifting out slightly. After this, TREASURE RAIDERS was obliged to race wide and in the Straight gave ground. TREASURE RAIDERS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, TREASURE RAIDERS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart beat. Before being permitted to race again, TREASURE RAIDERS will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Shortly after entering the Home Straight, BEAR DOMINANCE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NOBLE CONQUEROR which itself was being shifted to the outside of LAZY BUDDIES into clear running. BEAR DOMINANCE then hung in for the remainder of the race and passing the 100 Metres was steadied away from the heels of GALLANT KNIGHT which was giving ground. NOBLE CONQUEROR hung in in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride. When under pressure in the Straight, CLASSA SUPREME hung out and shifted wider on the track. For the major part of the race, LAZY BUDDIES raced wide and without cover and in the Straight tailed out. The performance of LAZY BUDDIES was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, LAZY BUDDIES will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUPER HONEY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER HONEY after the race did not show any significant findings. NOBLE CONQUEROR, LUCKY MONEY and QUEST FOR LOVE were sent for sampling.
