Racing Incident Report
TATTENHALL DELIGHT was withdrawn on 6.4.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (abnormality in blood profile) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FAST TRACK (G Mossé). Before being allowed to race again, TATTENHALL DELIGHT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FRAMES DEPOT began awkwardly, then shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded for room between PEARL OF INDIA which shifted in after being bumped by FAST TRACK and FLASH HARRY which was carried out by AMERICAN VICTORY. GREAT FORTUNE was slow to begin. WISDOM EXPRESS began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall, threw its head about and lost ground. After this, WISDOM EXPRESS got back and proved difficult to settle. After the 1200 Metres, FLASH HARRY, which after shifting across behind AMERICAN VICTORY, was ridden along to improve inside that runner and was steadied when AMERICAN VICTORY was carried in by RAINBOW EXPRESS. FRAMES DEPOT, which was following, was steadied. No action was taken. Near the 900 Metres, TERRAFERMA was bumped by LIAOBUQI which shifted in. Near the 800 Metres, WISDOM EXPRESS was bumped on the hindquarters by GOOD VIEW SUCCESS. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, FLASH HARRY, which had been ridden along to improve its position at this time on the outside of AMERICAN VICTORY, was carried wider when AMERICAN VICTORY hung out. AMERICAN VICTORY continued to hang out until after straightening. Near the 600 Metres, AMERICAN VICTORY and FLASH HARRY became unbalanced when FLASH HARRY shifted in and made contact with AMERICAN VICTORY. After the 400 Metres, FAST TRACK, which was endeavouring to improve into a narrow run on the outside of FLASH HARRY, became unbalanced and was steadied after making contact with ETERNAL DRAGON which at this time shifted in slightly. Over the concluding stages, PEARL OF INDIA hung out. Also over the concluding stages, GOOD VIEW SUCCESS hung in. When questioned regarding the improved performance of GOOD VIEW SUCCESS, Mr C H Yip, trainer of the horse, said in his opinion the horse was better suited by the fast tempo of today's 1400 Metre race. He said last start when GOOD VIEW SUCCESS performed poorly, it was attempting to race over 1800 Metres. He said on that occasion he was satisfied with the riding of the horse as his instructions had been endeavoured to be followed, however, due to the slow tempo GOOD VIEW SUCCESS was unable to obtain a position with cover, travelled wide and consequently in the Straight gave ground. He said today with the fast tempo GOOD VIEW SUCCESS after obtaining cover was able to close the race off strongly. GOOD VIEW SUCCESS and TERRAFERMA were sent for sampling.
