Racing Incident Report
LOK WAH TREASURE, GREAT SENSATION and PRINCELY HORSE were slow to begin. JOIN SUCCESS was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards blundered after striking the heels of OPTIC CHIEF when crowded between that horse which shifted out and OLIVE OR TWIST which shifted in after bumping with CHAMPION RANGER. Near the 1800 Metres, OLIVE OR TWIST commenced to over-race, got its head up, became unbalanced and shifted in abruptly away from the heels of OPTIC CHIEF. At the 1400 Metres, ETERNAL FUN proved difficult to settle, got its head up and shifted out. This caused inconvenience to FLORAL DANCER which was carried wider. At the 1200 Metres, ETERNAL FUN, which continued to be difficult to settle, got its head up when close to the heels of UNIVERSAL GLORY and tight inside FLORAL DANCER. Near the 400 Metres, LOK WAH TREASURE shifted to the outside of OLIVE OR TWIST to obtain clear running. In doing so, crowding was caused to OPTIC CHIEF. Throughout the race, COMFORT was obliged to race wide and without cover, near the winning post the first time went back in an endeavour to find cover, was unable to do so, then after the 1200 Metres was allowed to stride forward. Whilst the Stewards considered the riding of D Dunn (CYBER GULCH) in the run to the line did not affect the horse's finishing position and accordingly a breach of Rule 100(2) did not occur, they did however advise him he must ride all mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race whenever possible. CHAMPION RANGER was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of CHAMPION RANGER after the race did not show any significant findings. STEP FORWARD and FLORAL DANCER were sent for sampling.
