Racing Incident Report
Whilst parading, TRULY HAPPY kicked out several times and made contact with a rail. After arriving at the Start, TRULY HAPPY was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations he said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. After arriving at the Start, C Williams (GUSCOTT) reported to the Veterinary Surgeon that he was concerned with the action of the horse behind. The Veterinary Surgeon had the horse trotted out and after the necessary consultations said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Also after arriving at the Start, BOLD VISION was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He said the horse had a small wound on the near side hock, but in his opinion was suitable to race. ELEGANCE, which was restless after being boxed, bounded in the air when the gates opened. As a consequence of this, ELEGANCE got well back. Turning out of the Straight the first time, I DELIVER was steadied when close to the heels of THE RICH MAN. In the early and middle stages, I WIN was caught wide without any cover. As a consequence of this, the horse pulled very hard, proved difficult to settle and several times threw its head about, then over the concluding stages gave ground. About the 600 Metres, FLORAL DANCER endeavoured to shift out, whilst doing so made contact with THE RICH MAN. About the 400 Metres, BOLD VISION (A Marcus) shifted from behind DE INTEGRO, in doing so made contact with ELEGANCE (D Whyte). A Marcus was told whilst the Stewards are pleased to see competitive race riding, there is a limit to which he can take it. When BOLD VISION shifted out, D Whyte was inclined to raise his right elbow towards the face of BOLD VISION. He was told this style of riding could in slightly different circumstances place him in breach of a serious race riding rule. After the 400 Metres, I DELIVER became unbalanced and shifted out. About right on the winning post, TRULY HAPPY, which was making ground, was steadied to avoid the heels of DE INTEGRO. On pulling up, H K Yim was dislodged from FLORAL DANCER. This caused a delay to the weighed-in.
