Racing Incident Report

On jumping, TOP PRACTITIONER and EXTRAORDINARY were crowded for room between ALLEZ ALLEZ which shifted in slightly and CLASSIC CHOICE which on leaving the gates shifted out abruptly. The occurrence was accidental. In the early stages, KING HORSE pulled hard and firstly got close to the heels of MISSION POSSIBLE and shortly after close to the heels of EASTERN TYCOON. Also in the early stages, CLASSIC CHOICE, which was racing wide, had a tendency to lay out. Just after straightening, MISSION POSSIBLE was steadied when disappointed for running between COMFORT and SKY HAWK. After this, MISSION POSSIBLE travelled for some strides behind COMFORT and near the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of that runner in an endeavour to find running and go forward, was momentarily tightened inside COMFORT and when being tightened made contact with EASTERN TYCOON several times. MISSION POSSIBLE obtained running over about the last 100 Metres, but then was inclined to lay in. MISSION POSSIBLE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said CLASSIC CHOICE had a wound to its off side nostril which was bleeding. An endoscopic examination was carried out. No blood was detected in the windpipe. The wound in the horse's nostril was stapled whilst the horse was under sedation. Following the race, it was noted MISSION POSSIBLE was bleeding in the near nostril. An endoscopic examination was carried out. The Veterinary Surgeon said there was no blood noticed in the windpipe and only a mild blood stain in the near nasal passage and therefore MISSION POSSIBLE should not be deemed an official bleeder.
