Racing Incident Report
On the way to the Start, D Dunn was dislodged from CARRY-ON DREAMBOAT. The horse did not get loose, however, after arriving at the gates was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion was suitable to race. From a midfield gate, CARRY-ON DREAMBOAT was steadied on jumping, shifted across behind runners to take up a position towards the rear but closer to the rail. On leaving the gates, EMPEROR shifted in abruptly and bumped the hindquarters of SOUNDS GOOD. In the early stages, PRIDE AND FORTUNE was obliged to race wide and proved very difficult to settle. Also in the early stages, CAVIAR ONE raced awkwardly and shifted out, and rounding the Home Turn and in the Straight hung out. As a consequence of CAVIAR ONE hanging out in the Straight, some inconvenience was caused to MR HONOUR. For a short distance after the 500 Metres, SOUNDS GOOD was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CALIFORNIA TYCOON and just inside the hindquarters of EMPEROR. Just after straightening, SOUNDS GOOD shifted out from behind CALIFORNIA TYCOON, in doing so brushed DON INSIGHT. SOUNDS GOOD was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
