Racing Incident Report

FUNNY FACE became very fractious when being saddled. Prior to leaving the Parade Ring, FUNNY FACE was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. FUNNY FACE began awkwardly, got its head up, became unbalanced and lost ground. GALLANT HORSE, BE MY BRIDE and EASY GAME were slow to begin. In the early stages, COULDN'T CARE LESS hung in. Near the 1000 Metres, VINTAGE YEARS became unbalanced and lost its position when momentarily crowded for room inside MAJIN BUU. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, GALLANT HORSE hung out. Shortly after straightening, EASY GAME was steadied and shifted to the inside of SOUND OF SILENCE to continue going forward. After the 300 Metres, TRUST ME was held up and unable to improve between ACE OF PACE and MAJIN BUU. To obtain clear running, TRUST ME was steadied and shifted to the outside of MAJIN BUU. Near the 200 Metres, TRUST ME was struck over the nose by the whip of G Schofield (COULDN'T CARE LESS). Over the concluding stages, MAJIN BUU hung in. Apprentice C K Tong (THE WORLD OF LOVE) said the horse began only fairly, it was able to obtain a position behind the leaders, then making the turn at the 700 Metres the horse hung in and brushed the running rail. He said he was able to maintain his position behind the lead, however, when placed under pressure after the 400 Metres THE WORLD OF LOVE did not respond as he anticipated and gave ground. He was unable to offer any explanation for the performance of THE WORLD OF LOVE, however, he did point out the horse was having its first race start on the All Weather surface tonight. THE WORLD OF LOVE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, THE WORLD OF LOVE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said there were no significant findings. GENKI KING and TRUST ME were sent for sampling.
