Racing Incident Report

On the way to the Start, W Woods was dislodged from MR BASKETBALL. After being caught, the horse was remounted and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He discussed the horse's condition with W Woods and it was then decided that MR BASKETBALL was suitable to race. SEVEN GLORY was slowly away. When the gates opened, LUCKY LUCKY came out with its head up and shifted out abruptly. On jumping, MERRY STAR slipped behind and was further inconvenienced by TOP QUALITY which shifted in abruptly. In the run to the winning post, GALLANT HORSE shifted out badly under pressure. An inquiry was opened into an incident which occurred at about the 800 Metres involving GALLANT HORSE (C Williams) and KING OF TOYS (Apprentice S K Sit). After taking evidence from C Williams, Apprentice S K Sit, Mr P C Kan, Trainer of KING OF TOYS, and Mr K W Lui, allocated Trainer of Apprentice Sit, the matter was adjourned to a date to be fixed. The Stewards intend to allow Mr D Hill, Trainer of SEASONS GLORY, an opportunity of explaining the apparent improvement of the horse today when compared with its last run at Sha Tin on 10 February 2001. GALLANT HORSE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
