| Background: Noriyuki Hori obtained his training licence in 2002 and has over 20 top-level wins. He enjoyed one of his most successful years in training in 2015 when Duramente won the Satsuki Sho and Tokyo Yushun. His champion Maurice, a standout performer for the trainer across his career, excelled with victories in the Yasuda Kinen, Mile Championship, Hong Kong Mile, Champions Mile and Hong Kong Cup. Hori also won the 2016 Hong Kong Vase with Satono Crown and he became the first overseas trainer to win two Hong Kong International Races features on the same day. He also trained Neorealism to win the QEII Cup in 2017 and Tastiera to win the 2025 running of the race at Sha Tin. He won the 2023 Tokyo Yushun with Tastiera, who is his current stable star, as well as Group 1-winning sprinter Satono Reve. Hori campaigned dirt galloper Luxor Cafe to the United States of America, where the horse finished 12th in the 2025 Kentucky Derby behind Sovereignty. |
