5 LONGWAH SUPREME (M293) O Doleuze B/TT Angled into midfield from a tricky alley, raced 3 wide with cover in midfield, 4Ls back in run, made effort turning and looked to labour before closing too well last 100m to score easily.
8 KING MOSSMAN (M266) D Whyte -- Showed speed, took up front running role, set terms to suit to turn, skipped clear and made rest chase, outdone final 75m.
2 CAPTAIN SWEET (CL354) D Beadman -- Taken back from widest alley, nearer to last 7Ls or so away, well back to bend, weaved passage through on worst going and produced big finish for 3rd.
14 GIFT IS GIFT (M053) W M Lai -- Mustered to take up spot outside leader, travelled well to bend, forced to chase leader from 300m, layed in throughout straight but stuck on well to make frame.
4 BULLISH CHAMPION (M198) G Mosse TT1 Trapped wide and pressed forward, raced 3 wide without cover, 2ls back working on circle, continued to find in stretch and did well first up only tiring last bit.
3 PRETTY ONE (CL418) Z Purton TT Bounced out, faded into a midfield role, raced 2 wide 4Ls or so back, kept on reasonably in straight but didn't quicken as expected to be a factor.
12 PERFECT GEAR (CL014) C K Tong -- Went back to last from wide alley, raced 8ls away 2 wide, all to beat turning, made good ground under hands and heels to be nearest at finish.
13 CLEARLY SILVER (M372) M Du Plessis -- Settled behind midfield 3 wide with cover, 5-6Ls or so away at midpoint, was behind eventual winner turning, closed at one speed.
10 BRIGHTEXPECTATIONS (M368) K C Ng -- Planted 3 and 4 wide behind midfield without cover in mid section, 6ls away to bend, made a brief bid turning but weakened after hard run.
7 FIRST IN COMMAND (CL085) T Clark H/TT Bounced out, ideal trail on leaders back, there but niggled on bend, dropped off without much fight.
1 EAGLE REGIMENT (M011) B Prebble -- Out well enough, assumed box seat 1 out 1 back, had chance to bend, didn't pick up as usual and struggled to go on with it late. (See racing incidents.)
9 LUCKY BRAVO (CL411) M L Yeung -- Broke well enough, positioned behind midfield 5-6Ls back on rails, in traffic and checked at 300m, didn't find much thereafter.
11 GOLDEN BAUHINIA (CK123) C W Wong B Standard jump, settled midfield on the rails, 3-4Ls back, easy time to bend, dropped out tamely.
6 SOARING DRAGON (CH183) G Cheyne B/TT Not much early pace, back with last few 7Ls away on rails, always rearward thereafter finding them too slick over this trip.
