2 1 AMIGO (CK358) B Prebble -- Even break, sat off speed 2 wide 3-4Ls back in midfield, easy time to bend, made nice progress in straight but couldn’t peg back winner late.
3 8 ADORATION (M214) M L Yeung B Away smartly, slotted in on leaders back, all favours to bend, took inside runs turning, made a strong bid but peaked final 150m and lost 2nd late.
4 7 EXPRESS WIN (CJ042) K C Ng TT Standard beginning, settled behind midfield on rails, 5-6Ls back, improved position approaching bend, produced usual honest finish to make frame.
5 11 DANZULU (CJ069) K C Leung B Slowly away, settled at rear and struggled to hold position early, ridden up to join on racing 8Ls away, made some good ground under hands and heels in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)
6 10 CITY POWER (M066) Y T Cheng B/SR Even jump, settled in midfield 4Ls back on rails, had a quiet trip to bend, closed gradually to 300m without clearest running but just held ground when running presented thereafter.
7 2 ST FEVRE (CL002) W C Marwing TT Fair to begin, raced 3 wide behind midfield before dropping in on circle, 6Ls back throughout, made some progress in straight.
8 12 ELEGANCE KLAMMER (M228) J Lloyd H/TT Ordinary break, settled back with last few 7Ls away 2 wide, still well back to bend, didn’t find much in straight.
9 9 MOONWALK (CL083) M Du Plessis -- Out in line, took up spot first outside leader, even run 1L back to bend, struggling at 400m and faded out.
10 6 BEST FIT (M135) M Chadwick TT Rolled to front as expected, kept speed even in mid section, kicked on turning but couldn’t sustain effort and weakened when didn’t see out journey.
11 5 FLYING SUPREME (CK226) C Y Ho B Jumped OK, rider lost iron for a short while. Posted 3 and 4 wide without cover in behind midfield, 7Ls or so back throughout, did it tough to bend, never made impression.
12 4 ELEGANCE DESIRE (CL102) D Beadman XB Rearward as usual, 3 wide 7Ls back, still well back turning, didn’t produce trademark finish and struggled in run home. (Lame day after.)
