14 GALLANT CHAMPION (CJ002) K L Chui TT Slow into stride, taken down to rails, had soft run 6Ls back on fence, angled off approaching bend, into clear at 350 M, accelerated nicely and held on well from some smart rivals.
2 FAT CHOY ICHIBAN (CJ063) B Prebble TT Taken to rear from widest gate, raced at back 10Ls from lead, still well back to bend, angled out turning, made many lengths in straight for 2nd.
6 KING DANCER (CK129) J Victoire SR-/CP1 Standard beginning, ended up in midfield 4Ls or so off lead, had easy time in mid-section, held up badly from turn, steadied again near rear 150 M, finished hard for 3rd when clear, unlucky.
9 ABOVE ALL (CJ215) O Doleuze -- Restrained to settle rear last, best part of 10Ls away sharing rear, back to rails to turning, forced to come out but let down strongly when clear final furlong making remarkable ground.
8 VIGOR DELIGHT (CK070) J Winks H Well enough to begin, ideally placed 3Ls back on rails, used little to bend, took inside runs in straight and kept on soundly to finish just behind them.
1 AMBITIOUS GENERAL (CJ066) W Pike -- Even getaway, settled in midfield or just worse 6Ls away in running line, had chance in run, closed off in straight well to be nearest at finish.
3 OSVALDO (CK075) Z Purton B/H/TT Began in line, 4Ls or so back in midfield, reasonable run in mid-section, in traffic from turning to 200 M, saw daylight when too late.
5 APPRECIATION (CK161) D Whyte V/TT Worked forward to late close order, unable to slot in and 3 wide with cover throughout, 4Ls down on circle, kept in mix to 200 M before weakening.
10 FAT DRAGON (CD130) K W Leung B- Used from a widest alley, raced outside lead and applied pressure throughout, continued to share lead turning, held on to 200 M before fading.
7 REDRAGTOABULL (CJ292) D Beadman XB Standard break, posted 3 wide behind midfield 9Ls or so from lead, had cover in mid-section, job to do on turning, response only fair last 300 M.
4 STRAIGHT FORWARD (CL100) M Chadwick TT Showed speed, took up running soon after, led but harmed by outside horse, still there but shaded turning, no pick up final 250 M.
11 OLE OLE (CK301) M L Yeung -- Out with rest, went forward but caught 3 wide without cover, did it tough 1 to 2Ls away throughout, struggling on bend and weakened right out.
13 THE ONLY KID (CH173) H W Lai H/TT No early pace, best part of 10Ls back at rear, no excuses in mid-section, didn't let down at all (didn't handle track and substantial mucopus.)
12 BEST MILITARY (CL007) W M Lai TT Began with first few, took ideal spot 1 out 1 back, a little keen in run, there to turn, gave in tamely.
