3 3 REGENCY DRAGON (CH001) C Soumillon B/TT Had speed, worked across from a wide alley to race outside the leader, travelled well with easy pace, applied pressure on turning in, hit lead at 250 M but unable to go on with it late.
4 7 GALLANT LION (CG243) S Dye H Restrained from a wide alley to race at rear 8Ls back on fence, pace against in middle stages, still well back when improving, made up solid ground without much clear running in straight, flying late when clear. Unlucky.
5 13 SECRET OF KINGS (CG102) M W Leung B Slowly into stride, drove up to recover into a midfield role, raced 3 to 4Ls back closer than usual, had a suitable run with lack of pace on, in traffic from turning to 200 M, closed soundly when clear to be nearest late.
6 14 KINDACROSS (CG041) S K Sit XB/TT Fast into stride, took a prime position on leaders back, enjoyed ideal trip with steady sections, right there rounding bend, didn't get a clear crack at them for most of straight and not really tested.
7 4 FULL OF JOY (CG293) G Mosse BO Away in line, pressed on but unable to slot in from an awkward gate, raced outside leaders 3 wide without cover however suited by tempo, challenged leaders on turning, held on until 100 M when began to tire.
8 1 GREAT GUY (CH112) K L Chui TT Began well, took a prominent spot 1 out 1 back, tracked moderate tempo with run of race, eased out leaving circle, looked a threat at 300 M but unable to close off in usual fashion just holding ground late.
9 5 BEAR MACHO (CG152) E Saint-Martin -- Jumped well enough, ended up just in front of midfield 4Ls away in running line, travelled well throughout, eased 4 wide on straightening, made steady ground without looking likely.
10 6 JIANG JUN (CE281) D Whyte XB/TT Restrained from an outside alley, ended up 7 to 8Ls away in two wide line, not suited by tempo and keen throughout, still had job to do on bend, made some headway in straight without threatening.
11 2 INSPIRATION (CG111) D Beadman XB/TT Lacked pace from jump and allowed to position further back than usual, failed to settle racing 7Ls back behind steady tempo, back in traffic on turning and didn't really have much room thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)
12 8 AMPLE GAINS (CE021) H W Lai B/TT Began in line, outpaced early and posted 3 wide in midfield 6Ls back, did it tough with pace against, improved gradually on bend, 5 wide turning in, run ended before checked at 150 M.
13 9 LOTZATOW (CD397) B Prebble B-/TT1 No real early pace and drifted back to behind midfield, raced 3 and 4 wide 8Ls back, not helped by steady pace, made a 5 wide run off bend, only held ground in run to line.
14 10 WIN AGAIN (CD371) Y T Cheng B/SR Slowly away and lost considerable ground, raced at tail 8 or more lengths back, pace against in middle stages, couldn't find extra in straight and gradually lost touch.
