1 2 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 10 VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079) After the 200 Metres shifted out slightly and made contact with GOOD LUCK BABE. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 4 GOOD LUCK WIN (J135) Reared as the start was effected and as a result made contact with CLASSIC CENTURY, became unbalanced and lost ground.
4 11 EN PERFECTO (J409) Bumped on jumping.
5 1 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) Bumped after the 200 Metres.
6 5 FIREFOOT (J183) Bumped after the 200 Metres. After the event, Z Purton stated that he obtained a position outside the lead in the early stages. He said with the middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time FIREFOOT then gave ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 12 RAGNARR (H297) Jumped only fairly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
8 3 SMART CITY (J213) No report.
9 8 SNOWALOT (E397) After the event, B Thompson reported that his mount raced "flat” tonight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 9 CLASSIC CENTURY (J440) Bumped on jumping. After the 200 Metres lay in and away from TURIN WARRIOR and made contact with FIREFOOT. After the event, L Ferraris reported that his mount gave ground in the Home Straight and following the event he felt there was something amiss with the horse. Trainer M Newnham stated that CLASSIC CENTURY had pleased him leading into the race and had expected it to perform well. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from the right nostril. An endoscopic examination confirmed the horse to be a bleeder. Before being allowed to race again, CLASSIC CENTURY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race. <23/1/2025 Additional Veterinary Report>CLASSIC CENTURY, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time the horse was found to have bled from the right nostril and an endoscopic examination had confirmed it to be a bleeder. CLASSIC CENTURY was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer M Newnham this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, CLASSIC CENTURY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
11 6 NOT USUAL DRAGON (J438) No report.
12 7 PHANTOM CYCLONE (J271) Bumped on jumping. After the event, K De Melo reported that when he felt there was something amiss with his mount he did not ride it out over the final 600 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of PHANTOM CYCLONE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, PHANTOM CYCLONE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WV CHARMING STEED (E494) Withdrawn on 21.1.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter VIVA GRACIOUSNESS. Before being allowed to race again, CHARMING STEED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
