Racing Incident Report
Pla. | Horse No. | Horse | Incident |
| 5 | FAMILY JEWEL (J390) | Jumped awkwardly. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running near the 350 Metres before being shifted to the inside to obtain clear running. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 14 | CHATER GOLD (J004) | Near the 800 Metres was checked when crowded between CALIFORNIATOTALITY and DEVAS TWELVE which shifted out after being checked to avoid MIDORI BURLY when that runner was steadied away from ACCOLADE START. The Stewards found both the racing manners of DEVAS TWELVE and MIDORI BURLY were the cause of the interference, particularly due to the pace steadying at that stage, and therefore no action was taken. H Bentley was warned in relation to using his whip above shoulder height over the concluding stages. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 2 | CALIFORNIATOTALITY (H418) | Bumped on the hindquarters near the 800 Metres and became unbalanced. |
| 8 | COMING PATCH (G222) | From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. |
| 4 | DEVAS TWELVE (H435) | Checked near the 800 Metres. When questioned regarding his riding near the 50 Metres, Z Purton stated that after riding his mount along in the Home Straight, approaching the 50 Metres he felt both CHATER GOLD and CALIFORNIATOTALITY shift ground slightly and when he was concerned this may result in his mount being crowded for room, out of precaution he decreased his vigour for a short distance. He said once he was satisfied his mount would continue to be afforded with clear running, he then was able to resume riding DEVAS TWELVE out to the finish of the event. The Stewards were satisfied with the explanation provided by Jockey Purton. |
| 13 | SOARING BRONCO (J162) | Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. |
| 12 | DARCI JOY (E161) | No report. |
| 9 | SATIRICAL GLORY (H073) | After the event, L Hewitson stated that he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to cross to the lead and this resulted in SATIRICAL GLORY not finishing the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
| 7 | PRINCIPLED (J206) | From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. |
| 11 | MIDORI BURLY (J083) | For some distance near the 800 Metres was steadied away from ACCOLADE START when racing keenly. |
| 3 | PHANTOM CYCLONE (J271) | Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start. |
| 6 | ACCOLADE START (H331) | After the event, K De Melo reported that he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to cross and race outside the lead. He said in the Home Straight ACCOLADE START did not fully stretch out which he attributed to the "Good to Firm” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ACCOLADE START, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ACCOLADE START will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |
| 1 | TRUE GENIUS (J073) | The performance of TRUE GENIUS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TRUE GENIUS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |
| 10 | GALLANT HERO (E480) | Slow to begin. After the event, L Ferraris reported that his mount hung in throughout the event, but after the 800 Metres with more severity. He added in the Home Straight he was concerned there may be something amiss with his mount. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GALLANT HERO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GALLANT HERO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |
