Racing Incident Report

On entering the track, J Moreira, the rider of GOLDEN SPECTRUM, was dislodged without incident.
CLEMENT LEGEND began only fairly.
GOLDEN SPECTRUM shifted out at the start and bumped METHANE.
From the outside barrier, VINCY was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
When questioned, A Hamelin stated that as BLASTOISE was drawn an outside barrier in a relatively small field, it was felt that if the horse were to be ridden into a forward position as had previously been the case, BLASTOISE would either be required to race outside the lead or may be required to travel wide and without cover. He said as BLASTOISE is better suited when ridden with cover, it was agreed that the best option for the horse to obtain cover would be for it to be ridden quietly in tonight’s race. He added because of the slow tempo of the race BLASTOISE was not able to finish off the race as anticipated.
A veterinary inspection of TANGMERE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BEAUTY HAPPY and VINCY were sent for sampling.
