Racing Incident Report
KING’S HORN shifted out at the start and bumped UNIQUE TREASURE which in turn shifted out, resulting in QUADRUPLE DOUBLE and SUPER QILIN being crowded for room. In this incident, SUPER QILIN lost ground. Then when being shifted in across behind runners, SUPER QILIN shifted in abruptly approaching the 1100 Metres and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of KING’S HORN.
SUPER COMMANDER shifted in at the start and bumped BETHANY.
ORIENTAL AMIGO lost its left hind plate approaching the 1100 Metres.
Despite being vigorously ridden for some distance in the early stages, CALIFORNIA TURBO failed to muster speed.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, KING’S HORN raced tight inside ENTRUSTED.
SUPER COMMANDER travelled wide and without cover until near the 600 Metres at which stage the horse was shifted in to race outside the lead. CALIFORNIA TURBO was then left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 550 Metres, BETHANY got its head on the side and lay in when awkwardly placed behind SUPER COMMANDER. METRO WARRIOR, which was following, was shifted out away from the heels of BETHANY in consequence.
Near the 350 Metres, ORIENTAL AMIGO momentarily raced tight inside BETHANY which hung in when giving ground.
Passing the 200 Metres, UNIQUE TREASURE raced in restricted room between METRO WARRIOR and RACING FIGHTER.
The performances of KING’S HORN and BETHANY, both of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KING’S HORN and BETHANY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of KING’S HORN and BETHANY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
QUADRUPLE DOUBLE, RACING FIGHTER and UNIQUE TREASURE were sent for sampling.
<1/6/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>KING’S HORN, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. KING’S HORN was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer L Ho this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, KING’S HORN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
