Racing Incident Report
MY DEAR was withdrawn on 20.12.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind). Before being allowed to race again, MY DEAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Soon after the start, REGENCY GEM was crowded for room between SOCCER MASTER and LIVERBIRD STAR which shifted out.
Also soon after the start, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE was steadied and shifted across behind runners.
SOCCER MASTER lost its left front plate at the 1400 Metres.
Passing the 600 Metres, MONEY WINNER was severely checked away from the heels of CHACHAUP which came under heavy pressure and commenced to lose ground. CHACHAUP continued to give ground and subsequently finished tailed out. A veterinary inspection of CHACHAUP immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a cut above the right hind fetlock. The performance of CHACHAUP was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CHACHAUP will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Soon after entering the Straight, WINNING WARRIOR shifted in and made contact with MONEY WINNER, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
Over the final 200 Metres, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE hung in under pressure and proved difficult to ride.
H W Lai (WINNING WARRIOR) was fined $5,000 for unnecessary use of the whip on a horse out of contention.
Trainer C Fownes advised the Stewards that as MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR had been racing disappointingly, he instructed M Chadwick to ride MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR, which was backing up from racing at Sha Tin last weekend, in a more prominent position.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that LIVERBIRD STAR had sustained a minor laceration to the left hind cannon.
REGENCY GEM, LIVERBIRD STAR and MONEY WINNER were sent for sampling.
