Racing Incident Report
MEGA HEART was slow to begin and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners.
Also from wide barriers, BETTER CHOICE and SUPREME PATROL were shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, JING JING WIN (J Moreira) failed to muster speed and shortly after the start was shifted across behind runners. After the race, J Moreira was not able to offer any explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection of JING JING WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After travelling a short distance, PRIVATE ROCKET was awkwardly placed outside the heels of HARRIER JET which shifted out.
SPEEDY LUCK travelled wide and without cover until passing the 700 Metres.
After the 500 Metres, SPLIT OF A SECOND was taken wider by HARRIER JET which improved into tight running between SPLIT OF A SECOND and GINTOKI. After this, SPLIT OF A SECOND and HARRIER JET raced tight.
Passing the 100 Metres, E MASTER raced tight outside PRIVATE ROCKET which shifted out marginally.
BETTER CHOICE lost its left front plate after the race.
After the race, C Schofield stated that after being able to obtain a good position in midfield on E MASTER, the horse did not travel as well as he anticipated it would and then in the Straight finished off the race only fairly. A veterinary inspection of E MASTER immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, E MASTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
HARRIER JET, RACING FIGHTER and BUOYANT BOY were sent for sampling.
