Racing Incident Report
WINWIN THIRTYTHREE was withdrawn on 21.1.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetence) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter LONDON MASTER. SHINING ON was withdrawn on 22.1.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter SUNNY DRAGON (C Schofield). Before being allowed to race again, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE and SHINING ON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WINNING CIRCLE began only fairly.
WAH MAY PRINCESS shifted in at the start and bumped BOND ELEGANCE.
From the outside barrier, NABOO STAR was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
When being steadied from a wide barrier to obtain cover, EVERBRAVE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of VERY SWEET ORANGE near the 1150 Metres. Then after the 900 Metres, EVERBRAVE was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 550 Metres, TRAVEL DATUK shifted out marginally away from the heels of BOND ELEGANCE, resulting in GALLANT LEGACY being taken out and racing tight inside EVERBRAVE.
Rounding the Home Turn, GALLANT LEGACY became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by TRAVEL DATUK which, when improving outside BOND ELEGANCE, was taken out by that horse.
Passing the 200 Metres, WAH MAY PRINCESS momentarily raced tight inside the heels of VERY SWEET ORANGE which was then shifted out to relieve the tightening. WAH MAY PRINCESS again momentarily raced in restricted room inside VERY SWEET ORANGE approaching the 50 Metres which was then directed out away from WAH MAY PRINCESS.
As NABOO STAR attempted to improve into tight running between EVERBRAVE and LONDON MASTER passing the 100 Metres, EVERBRAVE shifted out and made contact with NABOO STAR, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
Passing the winning post, LONDON MASTER shifted in and bumped TRAVEL DATUK.
A veterinary inspection of GALLANT LEGACY and BOND ELEGANCE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the trachea of each horse.
NABOO STAR, LONDON MASTER and TRAVEL DATUK were sent for sampling.
