Racing Incident Report
ALL YOU NEED was withdrawn on 1.6.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter MONEY MARSHAL (B Prebble). HAPPY SURVEYS was withdrawn on 2.6.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inflamed left front fetlock) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter BO DUKE (M L Yeung). Before being allowed to race again, ALL YOU NEED and HAPPY SURVEYS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
JUST NOT LISTENING, which was fractious in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and consequently lost ground.
Shortly after the start, GOLDEN SLEEP and SUNSHINE HOLIDAY raced tight.
From a wide barrier, HIDDEN SPIRIT was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Passing the 1000 Metres, GOLDEN SLEEP got its head up and lost ground when momentarily racing tight inside SUNSHINE HOLIDAY. SEVENTY SEVENTY, which was following GOLDEN SLEEP, got its head on the side and shifted in away from the heels of that horse, resulting in RUN MOOCHI being inconvenienced.
Also passing the 1000 Metres, MONEY MARSHAL was corrected after shifting in towards the heels of GOLDEN SLEEP.
After the 800 Metres, CORDYCEPS was left racing wide and without cover and taken wider again near the 750 Metres by GOLDEN SLEEP which shifted out away from the heels of SUNSHINE HOLIDAY when travelling keenly.
After the 600 Metres, JUST NOT LISTENING lay out and then made the Home Turn awkwardly.
Near the 500 Metres, MIGHTY MAVERICK got its head up when awkwardly placed inside the heels of LA BOMBA.
In the early part of the Straight, MONEY MARSHAL got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.
Also in the early part of the Straight, SEVENTY SEVENTY was unable to obtain clear running and after being disappointed for a run between SUNSHINE HOLIDAY and GOLDEN SLEEP passing the 350 Metres was then shifted in a number of horses in an attempt to obtain clear running.
Near the 250 Metres, FLYING LOVER was brushed and taken in by SEVENTY SEVENTY which shifted in.
Passing the 200 Metres, JUST NOT LISTENING was steadied away from the heels of FLYING LOVER which continued to race tight inside SEVENTY SEVENTY (Z Purton) after that horse got its head on the side and lay in when improving into tight running inside LA BOMBA. This resulted in Z Purton having to stop riding and straighten SEVENTY SEVENTY.
Passing the 100 Metres, SEVENTY SEVENTY again got its head on the side and shifted in away from LA BOMBA which was taken in by KING OPIE. As SEVENTY SEVENTY was laying in towards the heels of SUPER EURO STAR, that horse shifted out before being corrected by its rider, resulting in SEVENTY SEVENTY being hampered and not being able to be properly tested over the concluding stages.
Over the concluding stages, LA BOMBA raced in restricted room between SEVENTY SEVENTY and KING OPIE and consequently was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
A veterinary inspection of JUST NOT LISTENING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
MIGHTY MAVERICK and SUPER EURO STAR were sent for sampling.
