Racing Incident Report

FANTASTIC SHOW was slow to begin.
FINE WITH ME was checked on jumping when crowded for room between RED HORSE and WIN BEAUTY WIN which shifted in abruptly. In this incident, RED HORSE became unbalanced after being bumped by WIN BEAUTY WIN.
AMUSING CITY began only fairly and shortly after the start shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of CHEERS CONQUEROR, causing both horses to become unbalanced.
SWEET HOME shifted in at the start and bumped APPLAUSE.
Shortly after the start, DOCTORS DELIGHT and LET’S TAKE IT EASY bumped. DOCTORS DELIGHT then became unbalanced, shifted out and made further contact with LET’S TAKE IT EASY after travelling a short distance.
At the 1100 Metres, DOCTORS DELIGHT was crowded for room inside WIN BEAUTY WIN which was then directed out by its rider to relieve the tightening. GREAT JOY, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence.
CONTRIBUTION travelled wide and without cover until after the 700 Metres.
For some distance approaching and passing the 600 Metres, GREAT JOY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DOCTORS DELIGHT.
Approaching the 500 Metres, FINE WITH ME raced close to the heels of GREAT JOY.
An inquiry into the reason for RED ELYSEES being crowded for room and APPLAUSE becoming badly unbalanced when bumped by CONTRIBUTION near the 350 Metres was adjourned until a date to be fixed as Apprentice H N Wong, the rider of CONTRIBUTION, was transported to hospital after being dislodged from MALMSTEEN in a later race.
Passing the 300 Metres, GREAT JOY was awkwardly placed outside the heels of DOCTORS DELIGHT (B Prebble) which shifted out. B Prebble was advised to exercise more care. Then passing the 200 Metres, GREAT JOY was disappointed for running between DOCTORS DELIGHT and RED HORSE which shifted in under pressure.
Near the 150 Metres, APPLAUSE and CONTRIBUTION raced tight.
Close to the finishing line, GREAT JOY raced tight between SANGRIA and RED HORSE, both of which shifted ground.
WIN BEAUTY WIN and LET’S TAKE IT EASY were sent for sampling.
<19/11/2017 5 November 2017 Sha Tin Racemeeting – Race 6 (168)> The Stewards today concluded an inquiry into the reason for APPLAUSE becoming badly unbalanced and RED ELYSEES being crowded for room approaching the 300 Metres. This inquiry was adjourned on the day due to Apprentice H N Wong, the rider of CONTRIBUTION, being transported to hospital following a subsequent race fall. Apprentice Wong today pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 300 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of APPLAUSE, causing that horse to become badly unbalanced and for RED ELYSEES, which was racing inside APPLAUSE, to be crowded for room. Having regard to the fact that Apprentice Wong will be unable to ride for some time as a result of injury sustained in the aforementioned race fall, the Stewards issued a severe reprimand to Apprentice Wong and advised him to ensure that he makes every endeavour to keep his mounts on a straight course.
