Racing Incident Report

HAPPY HAPPY and SUPER EURO STAR were hampered and MORDICUS (C Williams) checked when crowded for room between MULTIMAX which shifted out and FOREVER ACCURATE which shifted in after being bumped by ENDEARING. CELEBRATION was hampered shortly after the start by ENDEARING which shifted out to relieve the tightening to FOREVER ACCURATE. CELEBRATION was then steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners from the outside barrier. C Williams confirmed that it had been intended for MORDICUS to be ridden in a forward position, however, when MORDICUS was crowded for room, he elected to shift the horse across behind runners rather than attempt to obtain a forward position. He said making the first turn near the 800 Metres MORDICUS appeared reluctant to follow horses, however, in the Straight closed off the race satisfactorily given that the horse was ridden outside of its normal racing pattern.
EVER LAUGH began awkwardly.
Passing the 1000 Metres, CELEBRATION was checked away from the heels of SUPER EURO STAR when both horses shifted ground.
Making the first turn after the 900 Metres, HAPPY HAPPY shifted out and bumped THE INVINCIBLE which became unbalanced.
Approaching the 500 Metres, CELEBRATION became unbalanced after being bumped by MORDICUS which, after initially shifting out, then became unbalanced itself due to the contact with CELEBRATION.
In the early part of the Straight, SUPER EURO STAR got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.
Approaching the 300 Metres, ENDEARING got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure.
Near the 50 Metres, EVER LAUGH, which was closing off the race strongly, was shifted to the inside of FOREVER ACCURATE to continue improving. Close to the finishing line, EVER LAUGH was then shifted out away from the heels of MULTIMAX.
Throughout the race, ENDEARING travelled wide and without cover.
JOLLY BOUNTIFUL and HIGH ENERGY were sent for sampling.
