Racing Incident Report
As the start was effected, PLAY IT turned its head to the left, resulting in the horse losing a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, PLAY IT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
ARIZONA BLIZZARD was bumped by JOYFUL MOMENTS shortly after the start.
From wide barriers, ARIZONA BLIZZARD and GOAL FOR GOLD were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Despite being ridden along, SUPER MAN failed to muster speed and raced back in the field. Then making the turn after the 700 Metres, SUPER MAN got its head on the side and lay out.
Making the turn after the 700 Metres, CHARITY GLORY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of URBAN CHIC.
Passing the 500 Metres, ARIZONA BLIZZARD was awkwardly placed behind URBAN CHIC and for a short distance after this remained held up for clear running.
Near the 450 Metres, URBAN CHIC shifted out and bumped CHARITY GLORY.
Just prior to the winning post, STAR OF YAN OI shifted in and made contact with JOYFUL MOMENTS. The Stewards were satisfied, prior to the declaration of weighed-in, that having regard to where this incident occurred in relation to the winning post, the contact between STAR OF YAN OI and JOYFUL MOMENTS did not affect their finishing positions.
Throughout the race, BORNTOACHIEVE travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER MAN and ARIZONA BLIZZARD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
HAPPY METEOR and STAR OF YAN OI were sent for sampling.
<24/4/2017 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Officer reported that DEJA VU was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, DEJA VU will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
