Racing Incident Report

The start was delayed when BEAR RAPPER proved difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, BEAR RAPPER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
CELESTIAL NOVA was slow to begin.
AMAZING RACE shifted in at the start and bumped E-SUPER.
On jumping, FIGHT HERO began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped MULTIMAX which in turn shifted in and bumped JOYFUL MOMENTS.
FISH N’ CHIPS lost its left hind plate shortly after the start.
From wide barriers, EL SHERIF and STAR OF YAN OI were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Passing the 800 Metres, MULTIMAX was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FISH N’ CHIPS. JOYFUL MOMENTS, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of MULTIMAX in consequence.
Making the turn approaching the 700 Metres, EL SHERIF was bumped and taken wider by STAR OF YAN OI which shifted out away from the heels of AMAZING RACE. After this, EL SHERIF got its head on the side and lay out making the turns.
Passing the 300 Metres, JOYFUL MOMENTS (Apprentice K K Chiong), which was laying out, attempted to improve into tight running inside FISH N’ CHIPS which, after shifting in marginally of its own accord, then raced tight inside FIGHT HERO (H W Lai). Then passing the 200 Metres, as JOYFUL MOMENTS continued to attempt to improve into tight running inside FISH N’ CHIPS, JOYFUL MOMENTS was checked and blundered, resulting in Apprentice Chiong almost being dislodged. A short distance after this, FISH N’ CHIPS was directed out away from the heels of FIGHT HERO As it was established that JOYFUL MOMENTS had not properly established running inside FISH N’ CHIPS and was attempting to improve where there was doubtful room, no further action was taken. Nonetheless H W Lai was advised to exercise more care in respect of FISH N’ CHIPS being awkwardly placed close to FIGHT HERO’s heels near the 150 Metres.
Passing the 200 Metres, ARIZONA BLIZZARD got its head on the side and lay out under pressure.
Throughout the race, BEAR RAPPER travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, N Callan was not able to offer any reason for the disappointing performance of E-SUPER. He said the horse was able to obtain a good position behind the speed, however, did not finish off the race. He said he recommended to connections that they consider altering the gear carried by E-SUPER and, if a suitable race is available, to return the horse to Happy Valley where E-SUPER has a good record. A veterinary inspection of E-SUPER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on EL SHERIF at the request of Trainer D J Hall. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood and mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, EL SHERIF will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FIGHT HERO and ARIZONA BLIZZARD were sent for sampling.
