Racing Incident Report

Just prior to the start being effected, SMART DECLARATION became fractious and then as the start was effected was slow to begin.
BEAUTY MASTER began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of HELLA HEDGE which became unbalanced, shifted out and bumped CALL ME AWESOME.
Passing the 700 Metres, CALL ME AWESOME momentarily raced in restricted room between APPLAUSE and BEAUTY MASTER which got its head on the side and lay out before being corrected by its rider.
Passing the 200 Metres, FORTUNE BO BO shifted in abruptly away from BEAUTY MASTER after being brushed by that horse, resulting in LUCKY WAN FENG, which was racing tight outside HELLA HEDGE, clipping the heels of FORTUNE BO BO and blundering badly. THE SUPREME and SMART DECLARATION, which were following LUCKY WAN FENG, were hampered in consequence. As the Stewards were satisfied that this incident was attributable to FORTUNE BO BO shifting in abruptly and that J Moreira had reacted to the shift as quickly as possible, in the circumstances no further action was taken. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY WAN FENG immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a cut to the inside of the left front fetlock. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY WAN FENG will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Approaching the 100 Metres, SUPER WISE raced tight outside CALL ME AWESOME.
When questioned regarding his riding of AMAZING RACE particularly over the final 400 Metres, C Y Ho stated that, from an inside barrier, he shifted the horse across behind runners in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the outside rail. He said passing the 600 Metres he had hoped that runs would become available in front of AMAZING RACE, however, when those runs did not eventuate, he commenced to direct AMAZING RACE back to the inside approaching the 300 Metres. He added he was held up for a short distance after the 300 Metres behind GALLANT ROCK and outside KING MORTAR and had to wait for KING MORTAR to improve its position so that he could continue to shift in. He said when KING MORTAR did go forward of AMAZING RACE approaching the 200 Metres, he was able to immediately direct his mount to the inside of that horse. He said over the final 200 Metres AMAZING RACE hung out and proved difficult to ride and for this reason he had to straighten the horse on a number of occasions. C Y Ho was advised that his explanation would be reported, however, he must make every endeavour to ensure that his horses are able to obtain clear running at the earliest available opportunity.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER WISE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
