Racing Incident Report

SOLAR BOY was withdrawn on 30.6.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter TIME WINNER (T Berry). YOUNG HAPPY was also withdrawn on 30.6.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter WINNING ADVANTAGE (H W Lai). Before being allowed to race again, SOLAR BOY and YOUNG HAPPY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SUPER HORSE began awkwardly and lost ground at the start.
NEWS SUPREME was crowded for room at the start between TRILLION TREASURE and HIT A HOME RUN, both of which shifted ground.
ALWAYS WONDERFUL began awkwardly.
Shortly after the start, HELEN’S CHOICE shifted out and made heavy contact with BEST JADE TRIUMPH, causing both horses to become unbalanced.
From wide barriers, HEAR THE ROAR and WINNING ADVANTAGE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, ALWAYS WONDERFUL proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of TRILLION TREASURE. Then near the 900 Metres, ALWAYS WONDERFUL shifted out when being checked away from the heels of TRILLION TREASURE, resulting in NO TIES being inconvenienced.
NO TIES got its head on the side and lay in in the early part of the Straight.
NEWS SUPREME had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Near the 350 Metres, HELEN’S CHOICE was checked when unable to improve between TIME WINNER and TRILLION TREASURE which was giving ground.
Approaching the 300 Metres, ALWAYS WONDERFUL shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of TRILLION TREASURE.
After the 300 Metres, TIME WINNER got its head on the side, hung in and proved difficult to ride.
Throughout the race, SUPER CAGA travelled wide and without cover.
The performance of TRILLION TREASURE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TRILLION TREASURE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, T Berry reported his concern over TIME WINNER’S action during the race. A veterinary inspection of TIME WINNER immediately following the race revealed the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, TIME WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of HELEN’S CHOICE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
HIT A HOME RUN and BEST JADE TRIUMPH were sent for sampling.
