Racing Incident Report

ISLAND SPRING, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 4.2.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, ISLAND SPRING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
NICKU began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of TOP POWER. A short distance later, TOP POWER shifted out, resulting in NICKU being crowded for room inside SUPER TIGER and losing ground.
DARK SECRET and HONG KONG FAT bumped at the start.
HUMONGUS began only fairly.
From the outside barrier, ALL TIMES LUCKY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
M Chadwick (HOLLYWOOD KISS) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1500 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of HONG KONG FAT, causing that horse to be taken in onto DARK SECRET which as a result lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled and was checked. M Chadwick was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 27 February 2014 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 16 February 2014.
Near the 1300 Metres, HOLLYWOOD KISS was steadied away from the heels of BILLION GAINS (N Callan) which shifted in when not properly clear. N Callan was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in future.
After the 1300 Metres, TOP POWER was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 800 Metres, DARK SECRET shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HONG KONG FAT. HUMONGUS, which was following, was hampered in consequence.
Near the 250 Metres, CHARMGOLD and HOLLYWOOD KISS raced tight as CHARMGOLD improved into running between that horse and BILLION GAINS.
After the 200 Metres, HUMONGUS got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.
A veterinary inspection of BILLION GAINS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOOD TIMES ROLL and HONG KONG FAT were sent for sampling.
