Racing Incident Report
FORTUNE BRAVO shifted out at the start and bumped MOBILE KING. After this, MOBILE KING was taken across behind runners.
ACTIVISM was also taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Near the 1500 Metres, VIVA GUY was steadied away from the heels of PRECISION ERA which, when being ridden along, got its head on the side and shifted in away from HONG KONG FAT.
At the 1300 Metres, MOBILE KING and ACTIVISM raced tight.
Passing the 600 Metres, SURE CHAMP was hampered when crowded for room inside HONG KONG FAT which got its head on the side and shifted in away from NAVEL ORANGE. SECRETARY OF STATE, which was following, was hampered in consequence. In this incident, FORTUNE BRAVO, which was following HONG KONG FAT, shifted out away from the heels of that horse and in doing so made contact with PRECISION ERA, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. Then near the 500 Metres, HONG KONG FAT continued to hang in away from NAVEL ORANGE and in doing so shifted in across the rightful running of SURE CHAMP which as a result was checked and lost its rightful running. FORTUNE BRAVO and SECRETARY OF STATE, which were following HONG KONG FAT and SURE CHAMP respectively, were again hampered in this incident. VIVA GUY was shifted out away from the heels of SECRETARY OF STATE and in doing so bumped ACTIVISM. As the Stewards were of the opinion that this incident had been caused by HONG KONG FAT shifting in away from NAVEL ORANGE, no further action was taken. For some distance after this incident, HONG KONG FAT continued to race with its head on the side and lay in.
After being shifted to the outside of runners at the entrance to the Straight, ACTIVISM then shifted out further under pressure.
VIVA GUY had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Near the 250 Metres, HONG KONG FAT raced tight inside PRECISION ERA which hung in under pressure.
For the majority of the race, NAVEL ORANGE travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE BRAVO, NAVEL ORANGE and HONG KONG FAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PRECISION ERA, VERY WELL and ACTIVISM were sent for sampling.
<26/9/2013 Additional Veterinary Report> FORTUNE BRAVO, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. FORTUNE BRAVO was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P F Yiu this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE BRAVO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
