Racing Incident Report
YUE LU TREASURE was withdrawn on 3.7.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left eye) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter HOLY MAC (M Chadwick). Before being allowed to race again, YUE LU TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WINNING APEX and MI SAVVY were crowded for room at the start between HOLY MAC and INVICTUS which shifted out. After this, both WINNING APEX and MI SAVVY were taken across behind runners.
Also from wide barriers, INTELLECTUALSTRIDE and CHEERS JOY were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Passing the 1500 Metres, UWILLBEGLORIOUS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUGAR CITY which got its head on the side and shifted out.
For some distance after the 800 Metres, EMPEROR CLAUDIUS got its head on the side and hung in badly. Then in the Straight, EMPEROR CLAUDIUS hung in under pressure and proved difficult to ride and over the concluding stages shifted in towards INDIGO WAY. Because of this, EMPEROR CLAUDIUS was not able to be ridden all the way to the finishing line.
Passing the 500 Metres, INTELLECTUALSTRIDE was checked away from the heels of INDIGO WAY. INTELLECTUALSTRIDE was then badly held up for clear running for some distance rounding the Home Turn.
At the entrance to the Straight, MI SAVVY was awkwardly placed outside the heels of HOLY MAC which shifted out.
Near the 300 Metres, M Chadwick (HOLY MAC) momentarily dropped his right rein.
Near the 150 Metres, BORN TO WIN was shifted out away from the heels of EMPEROR CLAUDIUS.
After the 100 Metres, CHEERS JOY got its head on the side and hung in under pressure.
Close to the finishing line, HONG KONG DANCER and UWILLBEGLORIOUS raced tight.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that INTELLECTUALSTRIDE was lame in the right front leg and had lost its left hind plate. Before being allowed to race again, INTELLECTUALSTRIDE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
INVICTUS, CHEERS JOY and UWILLBEGLORIOUS were sent for sampling.
