Racing Incident Report
MEGABUCKS lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and a short distance later was bumped by ASMODAI which shifted out after being bumped by SOLAR BOY.
From the outside barrier, LINKED WIN was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, ENJOY THE FUN (T Berry) did not muster speed. After the race, T Berry reported that ENJOY THE FUN did not travel comfortably at any stage of the race and when placed under pressure would not stretch out. A veterinary inspection of ENJOY THE FUN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, BERNARD’S CHOICE got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover behind TRIUMPHANT WAY.
Approaching the 100 Metres, LINKED WIN was shifted out away from the heels of BERNARD’S CHOICE to obtain clear running.
Over the final 100 Metres, PILLOWIN was not able to obtain clear running and consequently was not able to be tested.
Close to the finishing line, YOUNG HAPPY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SOLAR BOY after being disappointed for running between that horse and ARCHER’S BOW. Because of this, YOUNG HAPPY was not ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
Throughout the race, MEGABUCKS and INFINITE COURAGE travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GENERAL DANROAD had lost its left front plate.
A veterinary inspection of ASMODAI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had lost its left front plate.
ARCHER’S BOW, FIERY RAIDER and MEGABUCKS were sent for sampling.
<24/6/2013 Additional Veterinary Report> ENJOY THE FUN, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. ENJOY THE FUN was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, ENJOY THE FUN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
