Racing Incident Report
On arrival at the barriers, the tongue tie fitted to CRIMSON HEART was replaced.
CRIMSON HEART began very awkwardly, got its head up on a number of occasions, shifted in and in doing so bumped KYNAM which in turn was taken in onto PERFECT CHARMING, resulting in both of those horses becoming unbalanced.
ART OF SUCCESS began awkwardly.
LUCKY BONUS shifted in abruptly at the start.
In the early and middle stages, LUCKY BONUS proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions.
Approaching the 500 Metres, ART OF SUCCESS became unbalanced.
Passing the 500 Metres, GOLDEN DEER shifted out and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of AMBITIOUS KING.
Over the final 300 Metres, GOLDEN DEER got its head on the side and hung out, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten that horse on a number of occasions.
Close to the line, AMBITIOUS KING was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN DEER which shifted out. Because of this, AMBITIOUS KING was not ridden out all the way to the finishing line as it normally would be.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of KYNAM, D Whyte stated that after being hampered by CRIMSON HEART at the start, KYNAM lay in throughout the race. He said the further the race progressed, the more KYNAM got its head on the side and hung in and unlike at its most recent start, KYNAM today proved difficult to ride. He said in contrast to its last start when the horse had the advantage of the outside rail to help guide it through the race, today from an inside gate, KYNAM was obliged to race in the middle of the track. He added because of this KYNAM did not concentrate during the race and raced quite greenly. A veterinary inspection of KYNAM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
KYNAM, ART OF SUCCESS and BECAUSE OF YOU were sent for sampling.
