Racing Incident Report
JOLLY VICTOR, LUCKY FOREVER and PERFECT CHEERS were crowded for room at the start between ENABLING which shifted out and RACING HERO which when proving difficult to settle shifted in after being bumped by NOBLE DELUXE which itself shifted in abruptly. A short distance later, JOLLY VICTOR was checked when crowded for room between ENABLING and LUCKY FOREVER which was taken in by PERFECT CHEERS (G Mossé) which continued to shift in. G Mossé was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding, straighten his mounts and do more than he did on this occasion to prevent his mounts from causing interference. After this, ENABLING (T H So) was vigorously ridden along to obtain a forward position, however, failed to muster speed and consequently raced back in the field and also travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. After the race, T H So reported that ENABLING never travelled comfortably in the race and was always under pressure to maintain its position.
Near the 1650 Metres, NAVEL ORANGE became unbalanced when momentarily crowded for room inside BEAUTY TOUCH which got its head on the side and shifted in when racing in restricted room inside FUN RIDER.
Near the 1300 Metres, JOLLY VICTOR was bumped on the hindquarters by RACING HERO which shifted in.
Rounding the Home Turn, ELEGANCE KLAMMER and FUN RIDER raced tight as ELEGANCE KLAMMER shifted out.
When questioned, T Clark (RACING HERO) stated that it was explained to him that from a similar barrier at its most recent start, the horse was ridden positively in the early stages to take up a forward position, however, had been obliged to race very wide and without cover until the horse was able to shift in to race outside the leader near the 1200 Metres. He said it was felt that because of the amount of use that had to be made of RACING HERO in the early stages, the horse was then not able to finish off the race last start. He said tonight, from barrier 11, he had been asked not to make use of RACING HERO in the early stages and to ride his own race in order to ensure that RACING HERO was able to finish off. He said in the early stages both LUCKY FOREVER and PERFECT CHEERS to his inside were aggressively ridden along to take up forward positions and therefore shortly after the start he commenced to shift his mount across behind firstly LUCKY FOREVER and then ENABLING which was also being ridden along. He said passing the 1600 Metres ENABLING was steadied by its rider to obtain a position with cover and at this time RACING HERO was left racing to that horse’s outside. He said in order to obtain cover on RACING HERO, he elected to shift behind ENABLING passing the winning post on the first occasion and this resulted in RACING HERO racing back in the field. He added that when ridden in this manner, the horse quickened well for him at the entrance to the Straight before finishing off the race only one-paced. A veterinary inspection of RACING HERO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of FAMILISTS and ENABLING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
REAL GENEROUS and JOLLY VICTOR were sent for sampling.
<28/3/2013 Additional Veterinary Report>ENABLING, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. ENABLING was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, ENABLING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
