Racing Incident Report

MARVEL PLUS was withdrawn on 8.1.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (cut tongue) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FUN AND FAST (M L Yeung). Before being allowed to race again, MARVEL PLUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FUN AND FAST was slow to begin and then lost further ground when crowded for room between CITY OF LIGHTS which itself was awkwardly placed inside MEGA POSH and SHANGHAI PIONEER which shifted out after beginning awkwardly.
INVINCIBLE HEART shifted out at the start and bumped EPEE DE HUA which in turn shifted out and made contact with SHARP PRINT. After this, EPEE DE HUA was ridden along, however, failed to muster speed.
From a wide barrier, CRIMSON was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Shortly after the start, HEY HA MASTER shifted out and bumped ENJOY THE FUN. SHANGHAI PIONEER and CITY OF LIGHTS, which were following, were inconvenienced in consequence.
After being ridden along after the 900 Metres to maintain its position, EPEE DE HUA was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of VICTORY IDE SAY after the 800 Metres when that horse shifted in.
Shortly after entering the Straight, CITY OF LIGHTS and MEGA POSH raced tight as CITY OF LIGHTS shifted out to obtain clear running.
After the 200 Metres, INVINCIBLE HEART was shifted out in order to obtain clear running.
Throughout the race, MEGA POSH travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of HERO’S WIN after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HERO’S WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SHANGHAI PIONEER, ENJOY THE FUN and FUN AND FAST were sent for sampling.
