Racing Incident Report

ZEZAO was withdrawn on 2.11.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore fetlock) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter KA WAI FORTUNE (H W Lai). Before being allowed to race again, ZEZAO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SUPER FRESH was badly crowded for room at the start between RIDE ON THE FIRE which shifted in slightly and PROLIFIC CHAMPION which got its head on the side and shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. A short distance later, RIDE ON THE FIRE (T Clark) shifted out abruptly and made heavy contact with HO IN ONE which became unbalanced. In this incident, T Clark lost the use of his left stirrup iron. T Clark stated that he was not able to regain the use of this iron until near the 600 Metres and in the meantime as he transferred his weight onto his right stirrup iron to regain the use of his left stirrup iron, his saddle shifted over to the right side, placing him at a significant disadvantage for the majority of the race and resulting in the horse losing considerable ground in the early and middle stages.
BUNDLE OF LOVE began awkwardly, shifted in at the start and bumped DANE PATROL which in turn shifted in and bumped XI YING MEN.
KA WAI FORTUNE was slow to begin.
Near the 500 Metres, BUNDLE OF LOVE was shifted to the outside of DANE PATROL after racing in restricted room between that horse which shifted in and XI YING MEN.
After the 400 Metres, KA WAI FORTUNE was steadied away from the heels of SUPER FRESH.
For some distance approaching and passing the 300 Metres, FAY DEEP was held up for clear running behind LUCKY RED which was giving ground.
Approaching the 50 Metres, KA WAI FORTUNE shifted in and bumped PROLIFIC CHAMPION.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that HO IN ONE had lost its right front plate.
A veterinary inspection of LUCKY RED after the race did not show any significant findings.
BUNDLE OF LOVE, ULTIMATE WINNERS and XI YING MEN were sent for sampling.
