Racing Incident Report
In the early stages, HEARTLAND proved difficult to settle and near the 900 Metres shifted out, resulting in SMART FORTUNE being inconvenienced.
For some distance approaching and passing the 500 Metres, KENSWORTH KID and RAY’S FAVOURITE raced tight and made contact on several occasions as RAY’S FAVOURITE shifted to the outside of SMART FORTUNE as KENSWORTH KID was improving to its outside.
After the 500 Metres, PERFECT JOY was held up for clear running until the entrance to the Straight.
Shortly after entering the Straight, HORSESHOE FORTUNE shifted out away from the heels of SMART FORTUNE to obtain clear running.
In the Straight, RAY’S FAVOURITE got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SMART FORTUNE had lost its left front plate.
A veterinary inspection of GO LUCKY GO after the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had lost its left front plate.
RAY’S FAVOURITE, EASTERN EMPIRE and YUAN’S FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
<20/9/2012 Additional Veterinary Report> GO LUCKY GO, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings other than the horse had lost its left front plate. GO LUCKY GO was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C W Chang this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg and had a restricted action in both hind legs. Before being allowed to race again, GO LUCKY GO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
