Racing Incident Report

The Veterinary Officer reported that whilst being paraded, NEW GLORY shifted its right front plate and in doing so sustained a puncture wound to the right front sole. Acting on this advice, NEW GLORY was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, NEW GLORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. From a wide barrier, EL ZONDA was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, VAUGIRARD was crowded for room between LONGWAH SUPREME and RICH TAPESTRY which got its head on the side and shifted out after being bumped by CHEETAH BOY. After this, VAUGIRARD was taken across behind runners. For some distance after the 800 Metres, CHEERS JOY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHEETAH BOY. After this, CHEERS JOY commenced to prove very difficult to settle and after the 600 Metres was checked away from the heels of CHEETAH BOY for some distance. CHEERS JOY had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and in the Straight got its head on the side and hung in. For some distance after the 150 Metres, TREASURE LANDS raced in restricted room between MENTOR and KEEN MARIE. Throughout the race, CHEETAH BOY and LONGWAH SUPREME travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of LONGWAH SUPREME after the race did not show any significant findings. FIONN’S TREASURE, MENTOR and RICH TAPESTRY were sent for sampling.
